Anybody been to one of these?
Looking for info. It is the 17th of September and the add in the paper says 100,250,400,500 yards.
$35 entry and $4000 in prizes.

any info would be graetly appreciated; benchrest,offhand, scoped or not,factory or custom rifles???

OK, Here's the skinny. Hope I didn't lose important info while copying down the details on a scrap of paper yesterday.

Accuracy shooting competition North of Alex, OK. 12 stablized balloon targets, 3 at each distance. 100, 250, 400, 500 yd. 14 rounds/ 10 min max. The top cut will have a shoot off with the same set up. If needed, 6 round tie breakers will be used to determine the final winner. 500 yd egg shoot after lunch. I could see bringing 50 rounds, but I'll probably be out after 14.

Pretty liberal rifle weight allowances, but no rail guns. Surveyer tape wind flags in place. concrete benches on site. Bring your rests or bags. Bipods OK as well. Near $4000 in prizes being awarded.

Starts at 8AM, 16 Sept. $35 in advance, $45 day of shoot. Limited to 50 something entries (can't recall the exact #) .

Hmm, the ad says the 17th.

Did they tell you it was the 16th, that is a saturday.
Dunno if i can go if its on the 16th.

D'oh!

I'm not sure... i just re read my note and saw that I never actually wrote down the date- 16th vs. 17th.

As we talked about the event, Rick mentioned the possibility of a practice day on the 9th (Sat). I guess I then assumed the actual competition was on the next Sat.

I'll call him back tomorrow, and will post the correct date.

As of right now, I'm planning on shooting.

The 17th it is... and I'll be at work :faint:

I just loaded some 77gr SMK's over TAC powder in .5gr increments for loadwork in my RRA Varminter. Guess I'll be reading about the great prizes and about how everyone ;) hit the egg at 500 yds.
