Should I consider my weak hand? or strong? I'm assuming that if my strong side (right) is bound or restrained. Should I carry the KBAR in assumption for access to my weak to give me a better option to free my right hand?
Exactly.
That is it's intended purpose.
I wear mine almost dead center of my belt with the handle oriented toward the left (weak hand)
I tried one on each side but the TDI design didn't work well for me that way.
If I could ever get me hands on any of the Shivworks stuff,I'd again consider carying one on each side.
Ka-Bar makes another TDI variant that is an ankle knife I believe.
If we could get someone to design a horizantal belt sheath for it *cough* *Mike Brown* *cough* it would be a good alternative as well.
Are you carrying the TDI in the factory sheath or one of the Shawn's Tactical sheaths from OPS?

Actually all you'd need to do is orient the new sheath the same way.
Someone would just need to make them.
Either way, buy a Disciple and trainer too. You will NOT be sorry. It will be $280 VERY well spent.
I prefer the Disciple but the Clinch Pick is far more popular and thus harder to get when they come around.

Mike,
I have a problem acquiring the TDI in a handle forward draw.
What i mean is...
I can draw it from a crossdraw position by pulling it from the sheath with my weak hand but I cannot draw it with my stronghand, overhand, with any kind of effective grip beacuse of the angle of the TDI
The Shivworks knives seem to negate that problem.
