Has anyone done it before? I'm wanting to do it this year, but I've never been out there before. Does anyone know anyone that would be willing to talk with me to get me started on the right foot hunting out there? Thanks.

I ran across 2 coveys rabbit hunting last year and a couple of guys that got into 3 other coveys. Be glad to try and tell you where we were.

I have hunted Lexington, but not for quail. I have jumped up a couple coveys, but I don't know how many quail are there.
I think they are sparse at best. Most encounters I've had with quail out there have been incidental to other activities.
I did run into quite a few birds out at Sandy Sanders WMA a few years back but I'm thinking the drought this year might have made a negative impact on an already thin population.

I'm hearing this a lot from people about Lexington WMA. I guess I'm going to be doing some squirrel hunting out there this year. That'll give me some insight to where the birds maybe, if any.
