Sounds good to me. I think it's a natural fit with gun owners.

Besides you know you've been hanging out in the wrong places when you know what TEOTWAWKI means. :lookaroun

Survival forum would be great. My wife and I did 11 days w/o electricity during the coldest February I can remember a few years back. I was unprepared. I have to admit I'm only slightly more prepared now. :faint:

Yeah, my wife and I had some ideas about a generator hooked up to the house electrical panel and an automatic switchover. Then we saw the prices. OUCH.

So, we're looking at a small generator that would power a couple of plug-in heaters and a hot plate.

If you ever heard of Homier traveling tool sales they come aroudn 2-3 times a year., They sell cheap gen sets for like $199 2 stroke when they come to town. http://www.homier.com/detail.asp?SessionKey=WYx5a1ajtis0LKXOVUhXQVyqNRK6 1%2fyrYZs20DA0Ywp6wmg041uj%2butMZPIXnFGbfftLRgzdzm bf&dpt=&cat=&sku=03241
They basically have a honda clone engine for the price they looked fairly nice. HArbor freight also has cheap gen sets.

A few years ago we went 6 or 7 days without power. Thats when I learned that a fridge takes at least a 400w inverter. I ran one off my boat battery. Of course, not before I lost all the food in it first before thinking of it!

The forum is down until further notice.

"Hello, It is with deep regret that I must temporarily suspend the forum. It has been brought to my attention that moderating had allowed a number of very inappropriate posts to remain on the site. Given the fact that there are many young Survivorman/Les Stroud fans visiting the site and forum, and that the family nature of my work is of the utmost importance to me, swift action had to be taken to nullify the situation. The forum will remain shut down until such time that responsible moderating can be arranged. I apologize for any inconvenience."
