There were about 17-20 people there I would guess. Will said it was a pretty big class. I think the part that I got the most from was when he lightly touched on pistol retention. We didn't practice anything just watched.
I kind of wish I could have started off in pistol III. The class is very good for someone just starting out. I would have to say it's worth taking these classes.
I don't know why but every time I do something like this class it take me 10-15 shots to calm down. My first 5 shots would have been Delta's for sure maybe even a Mike or two.
IDtheTarget was there helping Will out. Thanks for the pointers by the way.

No problem! My wife and I are going through the process of becoming instructors. In fact, we just completed the NRA Basic Pistol Instructor's course two hours before the Pistol Skills 2 class. :)
I'd like to help Will out as much as he'll let me, to get my feet wet as it were. I've been an instructor for various courses for 12 years now, and have the routine for picking up a new course down pretty well. At this point I'm ensuring that I have the practical knowledge and technique down.

The class was fun, but for some reason I lost all ability to shoot. Went out today and started with the same issues, but seem to be OK now. I guess I did pick something up during the class.
Can't wait for PS3. Should be loads of fun.

PS3 is the hardest, but PS4 is the most fun. It's kinda like an IPSC match, you learn to shoot while moving.

I got a crash course at my first match. I never reloaded on the fly until about 2 hours before the match. Plus I did my first match with in IWB holster.

Shooting while moving for competition or self defense purposes?

The pistol classes at H&H are defense orientated.

Cool.Let me know how the "shooting while moving" was taught.

It's going to be a while before I take a few more classes but I'll post up how they go. Who knew building a gun was so expensive? :lookaroun

JP, I will probably be in the next PS4 class, which will be on November 5th, so I'll let you know how that goes. I think the instructor is a Farnum disciple, so I would expect it to be along the lines of what he teaches.

JamesBell I hate to ask but were you the guy in the yellow shirt on my left? I was the bald guy with the U.S. on my shirt.

Yep, John Farnum has been out to H&H a few times. Unfortunately each time I seem to be at drill, damnit!
I haven't seen Mr. Farnum teach. I know that Will has used stuff from him as well as other sources to develop his classes.
J.P., so far all of Will's courses that I've taken (P.S. 2 - 5) have all been defensive/practical oriented. I think he used to compete, but I haven't seen any "competition/gaming" skills being taught.
