Should be here sometime next week. I just bought a 6inch .256win barrel for the old Contender. Gonna have to scrounge up an older 10 inch forearm for it, or cut down a newer one, decide what kind of glass it's gonna need, and find a load I can live with. Man I love getting new toys!

Well, it's all here except the glass. Cutest little thing you ever seen. I've got 5 loads with H110 and 5 loads with 2400, all with Hornady 87gr SP's just waiting for the scope to arrive. Hopefully all will be together by next weekend.

Pics? I can barely get this computer to work half the time, outdated caveman model of fecal material. Pics just ain't gonna happen until I replace this thing.
I did have it out for the first time this weekend along with the 22 hornet barrel I picked up at the show. Learned one thing, no way I can push those 87 gr bullets fast enough to stabilize in that 6 inch barrel. Keyholes as far as the eye could see. Got a box of 60gr fp's I'll try next time.

Okay, found my sweet load. Hornady 60gr FP's with 7.5gr of 800X all started with a Winchester small rifle primer. Hitting right at 1600fps and giving me 3/10" groups at 50yrds. Recoil is mild, muzzle blast is wild. Oh yeah, me likey.

good shooting, sounds fun, too bad about your "fecal matter" PC, put the money in the guns, computers you can get anywhere, lol

Got me a new computer now, even got rid of that dial up service and got DSL. now I just need a dig cam or a scanner.
Almost forgot, I've found several loads with 800X and Blue Dot that will shoot under 1/2" at 50yrds with this barrel. Lot's of fun, time to stretch it out to 100yrds and maybe try some 75gr bullets.

If you start looking there are several good sites that I use as a reference. Accurate reloading is a favorite,,, so many recipes,...so little time.....so many calibers. If you use your logic and common sense those lil contenders will hold up for years with any stretching in the case. Ive had several custom encors and loved them til I got spoiled by varmint style bolt guns. Oh well....we all have our "deal".

I know the feeling. I've spent the last year+ buying pampers value packs instead of WWB value packs.
