I have been shooting USPSA(thats what there is here) since May. I started shooting my Glock 31 and shot it in 2 competitions. In those I was a D level shooter. Its what I had. After getting more advice than I needed I put a .40 barrel in it and shot that twice too. Still a D level shooter. Now I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with being a D shooter. I'm just saying that I should be able to do better. I shot expert for 23 years in the army with M16s and hunted all that time too. This past Sunday I took out my Kimber stainless II to our monthly match and was a solid B level shooter. For me the 1911 just feels better in my hand. Points more naturally too. I think thats due to the "roundness" of the top of the frame compared to the large flat top of the glock allowing easier target acquisition. The only reason that I did'nt use it before was I was concerned that I would forget to take off the safety until I tried to squeeze the trigger costing me a second or 2. Everyone comented on how much better I did. End result? Check out the classified section for my glock stuff! Final comment. I'm not knocking the glocks, I know that they go "bang" every time you pull the trigger. I'm just saying they're not for me.YMMV
