Which squad were you in? Did you start out on the pistol or rifle side?

I got mine in the mail today. Thanks a lot. I think this will help me a lot.
One of the times when I cleared my gun because of some issue, I can see that I pulled my finger out of the trigger guard and put it on the frame. I'm pretty proud of my self for doing that. :)

Got mine too.
The footage was surprisingly better than I expected. I saw the woman filming moving all around trying to get a good angle, And it paid off. With all of the people standing around I thought the veiw was going to be obstructed. (which it wasn't at all). Very good training tool. I thank you very much for filming, and sending me a copy.

No problems guys. Mark and Jon did very good except when Jon's mags keep falling out :)

Yeah... I found out the hard way that my #3 mag is for use as practice only!
David said it was probably because it was my only 10rd mag, and they are harder to snap in than the 17rd mags.
I'm ordering a couple of new 17rd drop free mags that should cure that problem. Maybe I can keep up with Mark if I don't have any malfuntions!
What pistol were you shooting Son?

I was shooting the Beretta 92fs Vertec. I think I did pretty good considering it's my second time compete with it. I think I better stop switching gun every 2 months :faint: . I've been compete for almost a year and I've used Ruger P95, CZ P-0, Sig Pro, Sig P226DAK, and the Beretta. I'm going to stick with the Beretta for a while for production. It feel really good in my hand.

I thought I saw an external safty... That explains it.
When I load and make ready,I seat the mag, chamber a round and then smack the mag in again.
Just extra insurance against an inadvertant mag drop.

We all have our “load & make ready” fail-proof methods. Once I seat the mag, I give it a little tug at the base, where I'd use my little finger to hook it out, if it didn't fall during a reload. After the mag tug, I pull each reload mag out of my belt pouches (holding as I would reload) and give them a quick look to be sure they are fully loaded. The first operation reinforces an immediate action skill and the 2nd is a practice to locate mags for reloading.
It's embarrassing for the mag to drop on ground after one shot and more embarrassing to reload a partly empty mag. Both are good for “dumb face” photo ops and both will kill your stage score. Their consequences in a SHTF could really kill you.

I seat my mags in so far that I knock the extractor loose every few months...

Jon's mag drop was on a reload during the stage. I watched that video for about an hour today and it's just sad when I get to that part. Because I know the dang thing is going to fall out.

keep watching it... maybe it'll stay in just once :P hehehe
I was frustrated with my CZ75 last match, so on the last round, i seated the mag, butted it twice with my palm, chambered a round, set the safety, tapped it twice more to make sure it was seated...
I drew and fired and before the slide was all the way back the mag was on the floor lol. (something like that). I was pissed but didnt skip a beat and had another mag in there quick. Turns out, like a dumbass, i had my right thumb over the mag release and when i brought the gun up and placed my left hand on the grip, i pressed my thumb in and the mag was loose before i ever fired.
Live and learn i guess!
My 10 rounder did great... i've got all my 17's in now though so i hope to be using those next time.

I do that also...
My problem was on my 2rd reload. My 1st reload was fine (17rd mag)... But my 2nd reload was with an older 10rd mag that aparently is really hard to seat when loaded to capacity. I have another newer 10rd mag that never seemed to have that problem (Although it hangs up and doesn't always drop free).
I think my problem can be fixed with a couple $15 glock 17rd mags. (Well one of my many problems!)

I have a similar problem, but instead of the mag release I put my right thumb on the slide release. This means that my slide won't lock back on an empty mag about 50% of the time. I'm still trying to figure out how to have a good firing grip that won't release the slide on an empty mag...
