These hawks are starting to put a crimp in my PD hunting.
Usually within an hour after I start hunting they start to arrive, one or two at a time waiting for me to leave, so they can dine on the remains.
Today I counted 20, all spread out, just sitting there in the pasture. Quite a sight to see really. I love watching them, trouble is they make the dogs even more spooky, and they hunker down for longer perioids of time.
I've shot at dogs 30 yards either side of a hawk, and they don't even flinch from either the report, or the flying dust. I've hunted around them so much, they must know I'm not going to shoot them, so they feel safe I guess.
WPS.
