Thanks for the reminder. I had something else going on but I think I'll dump that and go to the IDPA shoot. I have only done it once before and had a liot of fun.

Don't worry, this will be my first match. So you won't come in last.

I'm still not tip-top so I don't expect to lay any smack down this time in any way, shape,or form.
But when I'm feeling chipper again,LOOK OUT!!!!!!!!!

I can guarantee you that I will still have a great time though.

I've never been to a comp and I'd love to watch and eventually participate. Where's the comp at?

Match is at Oil Capital Rod & Gun Club (ESE side of Tulsa metro), located east of Broken Arrow and north of Coweta, just off nice paved county road. Follow map in link: http://www.ocrgc.org/location.htm Follow the map and you'll have no problems. The turn-off at 305th and 101st is marked by a green street sign, the rest of turns are well-signed.

Wish I could have been there, but the wife and I were camping in deep in the sticks on the Mulberry River in AR. Heard nothing all night long but the roar of the river rushing. Awesome..........

correction.....I would have been 4th. ;)

I would have done better but I decided to retreat to cover, reload, and then engage a non-threat several times. :bigeye:

It took me a few shots to realize what I was doing.

If Curt were there SOing,I could hear him now.......

"Okay shooter IF you are finished.......unload and show clear"
:)

J. P. was one of 11 shooters (of 36) who plugged a non-threat. There weren't seas of non-threats, but those that were there (maybe 1 non-threat to every 3 threats) did seem to appear in the stages in locations that would temp bullets. Darn that devilish course designer and the course setters!

Just a general hint to those shooting IDPA, the risk to non-threats often is much less if the shooter choses an alternate shooting position. It may take a little more time, but it may substantially reduce the chance of plugging a non-threat.

Personally I consider it a major accomplishment to shoot an entire IDPA match with no proceedurals or non-threat hits. Take this from one who has garnered a few proceedurals and winged a few non-threats.

I had a great time for my first shoot. I was in the group that Lance shot in. Now i know how much work I'm in for.

J.P. Lance and Dave, made every thing go smooth for me. Still alot to learn, but alot of fun to be had.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Glad to have ya' and hope to see you at ALL the matches!

For those keeping score....
Lance is my closest competition and probably my biggest threat at Badlands.

I was not able to make Oct. and will not make Nov. either. They both fall on opening day for deer season. Lucky for JP, unlucky for the deer
