It seems like all the great ones you order on line (milt sparks, Kd holsters, highnoon holsters, etc) In Tulsa - you always can find the Galco's but thats about it. Good luck
don't know about Norman, but you have Outdoor America and H&H in OKC....

J.P. just sold his ctac for the 19! You just missed it. Its a really nice holster, I've worn it a few times.
The comp-tac guys used to come to the okc gun shows, but I haven't seen them for about 2 years now. I wish they would come back. I did see them at the Tulsa Wanamacher show.
I would just order direct from comp-tac, they are in Houston, and you'll get your holster in 2 or 3 days.

Take it from me... you'll have to order online.
If you want the best IWB holster for your G19,you are just going to have to step up,bite the bullet, and order a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2...

Long wait but they are worth it!

I agree with J.P., the VM2 is the best all around holster in my opinion. You're gonna spend over $100, but its worth it. The Ctac is one of the top 3 in kydex holsters. I really like it too.
Let us know what you end up doing!
Looper Leather carries several brands of holsters. They are in OKC
right off of I35, around SE 15th.

Good God - those are gorgeous!! I have been waiting for 2 months for mine - they said probable two more!! AAARRRRGGGG
They are very comfortable too.
The best i've tried.
They conceal so well that they make the CTAC look like an OWB paddle by comparison.

do these have a trigger guard as well

JohnBM,
If you are short on time and funds, the Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 is a great option. It is about half the price of a VM2.
Personally, I find it more comfortable than the Versa-Max or the Executive's Companion and much smoother to draw.
The important thing to me about the price is that if you are serious about self-defense training, you really need a traiing holster and a carry holster. This is because if you are truly preparing for self-defense you will have to engage in protracted physical struggles over your gun both in and out of the holster. If you do this, you will ruin your holster so if its only for training, its not a problem.
If you're not planning to train that way and hoping for good fortune to carry the day, its no big deal what you choose.

Yes, it covers the trigger. There is no way to discharge the gun if its all the way in the holster.
If you are short on cash...don't over look Don Hume Leathergoods. There are an Oklahoma company and you can order on-line or pick up their gear at H&H.
One of their rigs could hold you over untill you have extra dough to put down on a custom.

Most definitely! I have a couple of them and they work great - real cheap too. I didn't know they were Oklahoman though - where at?

well fellas i appreciate all the info, but i went ahead and ordered the C-TAC. saved me
about $30-$40 and a whole lot of time.... Does anyone have any feedback on this
particular holster, and if anyone has ordered from the comp-tac site in the past can
you tell me about how long it took to get your holster, and how is there customer
service... thanks everyone...
I've had great luck with Comp-tac products and service.
The longest turnaround I've ever heard of was 2 weeks.
Usually they ship within a couple of days.
Make no mistake about it,the CTAC is a great holster.
Michael,
Does the SS2 lay the butt of the gun as flat as the VM2?
This is one of the appealing things about the VM2,to me.
I could conceal it under the sheerest of t-shirts because it held the butt in very flat and tight against the body, something the CTAC doesn't do quite as well.
Michael Brown
08-27-2005, 06:55 PM
I think it does, but my guess is that it varies by body-type.
Myself and three others that I train with all bought SS2's recently and train with just a t-shirt covering it and it conceals great.
We're all different body-types but I'm convinced there's a lot of room for leeway in all holster selection.
I think the important thing is that guys not get into wearing a kydex OWB and think its remotely secure just because it doesn't fall out.
I think the VM2 is an awesome holster. I just hate the price tag and turnaround. Particularly if you are going to buy one for training.
Michael Brown
I believe they are in Miami, Ok bulbboy..........
This place has Milt sparks items already in stock but you pay about $30 more for that quick turnaround.

Has anyone tried one of these?
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-4/174110/Blade-TechHolster.jpg
It's a Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment Holster. (http://www.blade-tech.com/product.php?productid=821&cat=260&page=1) The thing I find most appealing is that you can still tuck your shirt in while wearing it. Here's what Blade-Tech says about it:
"(IDPA APPROVED) This holster has the same features as our popular IWB model. It is fully adjustable for FBI Cant or Straight Drop, allowing for the shirt to be tucked into the pants, completely concealing the firearm and holster. "
Do you know of any other IWB's that allow the shirt to be tucked in? Unfortunately, it's a requirement at work.
Desantis makes a IWB that is tuckable. It is called "TUCK-THIS"
i have no experience with the Blade tech but I do like the Comp-tac "Shirt Tucker" or Ky-tac "Braveheart" which are similar (and better) designs.

I was looking to buy one of these a few months ago and was talked out of it by some of the guys on glocktalk. They said it wasn't very comfortable, so I decided against it. It does look like a nice holster though.

Well, I got fingerprinted and the packet went in Thursday, so I've got time to do some research :) Obviously, I want a secure, confortable holster with easy access, but I've got that nagging shirt tucking issue to deal with.

I'd almost rather pay it than wait.
I ordered a rig from Lou alessi last year and it took at least 3 months.
I figured I'd just forget about it and let time pass but the last few weeks ate me up.

Yea, I ordered my Alessi PCH back in february and it took over 16 weeks to get it. I'll have to check my calendar, but I'm thinking it was only a few days away from 17 weeks. The wait was horrible! If I had it to do over again, I would order from lasports and pay the extra money and have it within the week.

I don't think I'm alone in this but you will probably find that the "Tucking" feature of any holster is overated, barely adequate and only used in limited circumstances.
This is what I have found.

Lasports,
Do you typically have all these Milt sparks models in stock for popular handguns like the Glock line?
If so, let me know as a number of officers from my agency are looking for some.

I had one of these once. The whole gun would fall forward in my pants with only one belt clip possitioned behind the gun.
I moved to a CTAC.
I have a LNIB Comp-tac Shirt Tucker that i'm going to list in the classifieds if anyone is interested.

I had one too. You can send it back to Comp-Tac and they will upgrade you to a CTAC for $35.
That's how I got my second CTAC.
See their website at: Comp-Tac (http://www.comp-tac.com/)

Michael,
We do our best to stock all the holster models depicted on our website. We have a very strong Milt Sparks, Galco, PCS, & Wilderness Tactical inventory. We do have some Alessi products as well, but at this time they are the hardest to come by and we have thousands of $$$ on back order.

Wow, good to see you on our site!
Out of curiosity, do you have the Alessi CQC/S for the:
1). Sig 220ST (old rails)
2). XDsc
It seems like I was told the xd's had to be ordered from Alessi because they aren't kept in stock, I hope I'm wrong.
Thanks!

I've ordered several holsters from Lasports and they are the best!!
For me, paying a little extra so I don't have to wait 3-6 months is well worth it.
They really understand customer service. :thumb:

Well, better late than left out.... I think..
Threat Solutions UCR (http://www.threatsolutions.com/holsterindex.html)- Very comfortable for my 1911's. Holds the butt of the pistol in close to the flank. Works well (For me) without a belt. Possible downsides- Non tuckable and as of late, apparently hard to get a response from the maker.
For my recently accquired G30, I picked up a like new Comp Tac CTAC from GT's FS board. Nice, fits well and tuckable (Still, like tucking my shirt over a small brick). A little tricky to put on and tuck at first (Sitting down helps).
Galco nylon waist pack. Good/ comfortable for road trips in sweats.
Lots of good holsters out there. If you don't like whatever you have, get rid of it. It doesn't matter if someone else loves it. Job, physique, activity, pistol size/ weight, they all affect our opinions about CC holsters.
Remember- "Comforting, not comfortable" doesn't require DIScomfort.
I've collected a pile of impractical or uncomfortable holsters over the years. They're harder to sell off the longer they sit in your closet.
To the OP- How do you like your CTAC?
