I got home this evening and there was a large brown envelope from the OSBI waiting for me. Thought that it might be a letter saying that I could pick up my CCW permit. Or maybe rejection notice. Well it was neither one, the fingerprints were not clear enough. They sent me two more fingerprint cards. I didn't have time to make it in to the Sheriff's office this evening so I will have to go in Monday and try again. Hope that they can get a good clear set this time and hope that it don't delay my permit too much.

A year ago, a friend had the same problem, and was advised to go directly to the OSBI HQ and submit fingerprints there, which "Passed" without problems. Don't know if it's still possible, but worth a call to get it done right.

That is what Oklahoma County recommends, in fact, when I got fingerprinted, they gave me a letter explaining the process with directions to the OSBI office just in case the prints were rejected.

They said that if I had more problems to give them a call. They gave me a number. OKC is about a 3 1/2 hour drive for me. I'll give the local SO another try first.

If Tulsa has an OSBI office, they may have a fingerprint scanner there.

Thanks for the info guys. If I still have problems I will call the number and see if they will let me go to Tulsa. I just got back from the local SO. They said that the guy that had taken my prints had been fired. They also said that I was not the only one that had their prints kicked out. This new guy promised me that they wouldn't kick out "his" prints. Wait and see I guess.

When you go in to submit your print cards that came with the osbi concealed weapon pack at the Tulsa Sheriffs Office they throw them away, and fingerprint you on a scanner/computer. Very nice people there.
I got the dreaded brown envelope two weeks after I was finger-printed. Got reprinted at OSBI Hqs (very nice people there) and received the permit 30 calendar days later.

I received the "brown envelope" two weeks ago. I went up and had the OSBI do my fingerprints last Thursday. I was still a little concerned because my excema makes it hard to get a good set of prints. The lady who did the prints said they would be fine, but she also made a note on my cards about the excema. Hopefully it will all work out.

I got mine done in Tulsa at the Sheriff's office. They used a scanner and it complained a few times about the print after it was taken. It just asked to rescan and all was good on the second pass. I'll bet that if a scanner is used that it makes it much easier for them at the OSBI since a computer already read them when they were taken.

Got the letter today saying my application was approved. Now just need to run down to the Sheriff's office and pick up my license. :)

Today I too received the big brown envelope. Can I go somewhere else other than the downtown sheriffs office? The notice says I can go to OSBI after 2 rejections. I would like to go now and get this going.
Do you know what hours they work to take fingerprints? Thanks

There's a Sheriff's station in Crossroads Mall that does fingerprinting.
Check 'em out.

I went to the Sherriff's office at Quail Springs Mall and it took no time.

Things are really slow. I am waiting on my third renewal which I mailed in January. I sent e-mail, reminding them that I expire in 10 days and they responded with an estimate of another 2 weeks.
