Went duck hunting

Well 2nd day in the season and landed me a small mallard.

Well the rumor "their aint no ducks in OKlahoma" is true.. I saw maybe 10 ducks yesterday total.

My buddy claims I shot the only duck left in OKlahoma. LOL

Guess I got spoiled with my first hunt being in Arkansas aka "Land of the duck" a few years ago. I mean I saw thousands of birds up their my first hunt.

Boy i picked a bad place to be waterfowler.. I guess it just a bad year all around, Reports from Arkansas Family friends are not looking to hot. No water to flood fields or its to scarce (expenseive) to flood em. A Family friend that makes a living off duck season In Stuttgart area says the duck hunters are not coming up this year due to the bad past few seasons. I hope things get better all over.

On a brighter note, some guys acrosss the state are getting their limit so it might just be me or I dont have a good enough spot.

Too dry for good duck season this year. The family farm pond is almost dry it usually has hundreds of ducks each day, maybe two or three this year.:(

I live in norman and go to the canadian river when i go duck hunting and everytime we go my friends and i almost limit out everytime, the best advice i can give you is to do a lot of scouting.

6-7 years ago we shot a lot of ducks in the eastern half of the state. The last few years have been terrible though.
