View Full Version : What's your IDPA rig?
I'm currently using a G19 with 3.5# connector,smooth face trigger,and ovetravel stop.
Everything else is stock right now but I need new sights bad.
I'm probably going to go with a Dawson front and Novak rear.Looks like a great setup.
I'm also using a wilderness 5-stitch belt and Holster and mag pouches from Ready Tactical at www.pistolpacking.com.
I've been shooting WWB 147gr TCMC at matches.

Haven't shot IDPA yet, been wanting to get started. I'll probably start w/ my G30, since it's my daily carry. Need to get an OWB holster (if I can decide what's legal!). Need to order a good belt and mag carriers as well.

Hard to decide what is actually legal.
The holster itself may be legal but not on certain body types.
Just make sure there is not a gap bigger than 3/4" between the gun and your body and that there is no light through the belt tunnel.
The ready Tac stuff is IDPA legal.
Post what you are planning on getting AND we'll help you decide if it's legal.

Looking at Comp-Tac locking paddle. I like their holsters, lightning-fast shippimg, and they still have customer service.
Forgot to add...
I have only recently started IDPA and have shot most of my matches in the cooler months with a jacket or coat as cover.
I tried using an overshirt in warm weather but they flap around too much and don't positively sweep out of the way every time.
Some clubs don't require cover in very hot weather.
I'll probably have to get a 5.11 vest eventually.
I have been resisting a vest but now I see the usefulness of them.

Pigeon,
The Comp-Tac Locking Paddle is not IDPA-Legal as they sell it. You will need to take a heat gun to the paddle in order to remove any daylight.
I recommend getting the Comp-Tac Belt holster. Its IDPA legal and rumor has it that the IDPA state champion wears one. :wink2:

I've never shot IDPA, how many magazines do you usually burn through on a stage?
I've never shot IDPA, how many magazines do you usually burn through on a stage?
I wear two extra mags, for a total of three but tHE MAXIMUM ROUND COUNT I CAN REMEMBER WAS 18-20.
If I change mags I never finish the second mag.
You have to load 10 maximum and start with 10+1 (hi-caps)
