I am thinking about trying IPSC and I need to start buying the stuff I need. Can you guys recommend a good beginner setup for production class?

The CR Speed belt is a little pricey but I think it's well worth it. I was using my carry belt and thought that was okay. When I put on all my gear with the CR Speed belt and it stayed in the exact same spot every time I moved I was very happy spending $70 on it. This is how sturdy it is.

It looks like that belt is worth it. Thanks for the pic. What about mag pouches? How many do I need and what format is best? As in two doubles and a single or whatever.

Oh man that sucks I paid $70 for mine just a month ago. Oh well.
I would say you need at least 4 mags with 3 carriers. Having a spare mag isn't a bad idea either.
I like having 3 single mag pouches. Leaves room for adjustment if you want. I'm probably going to have a 4th one made and run it in the front on an angle.

The amount of mags and mag carriers depends on what division you want to shoot. Three will work for limited. I like to have four on my belt and one to start with for production.

I bought a Gould and Goodrich belt, uncle mikes holster and three mag holders from some airsoft company off of ebay..... Total price $85.00
It works great, but of course I'm on a budget :thumb:

just to put my .02 cents in. I shot uspsa in okc last month with my blade tech holster, a double mag carrier, and two single mag carriers. on my reg. belt. it was a blast!!!! I did need 4 mag. on one stag. the other 5 stages just needed 3. just my .02 cents

THe matches at H&H don't usually require more than 3 10 rd mags on your belt... Plus one in the pistol. Unless you miss... ALOT.

I just ordered a CR Speed Belt. I was really impressed when I looked at the one Mark bought. I found it for $45, and I couldn't pass that up. I'm thinking about asking for a CR speed holster, and some speed comp mag carriers for Christmas... Not sure if my wife thinks I'm worth and extra $300 or not. lol

I would recommend a minimum of 4 mags on the belt plus a start mag carried somewhere else. I use a heavy leather belt instead of an inner/outer arrangement. It works OK and my belt loops don't seem to get in the way. The CR Speed and other belts are nice, just not an absolute requirement especially for someone starting out. I use this arrangement for production or L10 and shoot USPSA mainly at OKC gunclub matches.
