And challenging it was !

I talked my friend who was visiting from Colorado to shoot it. He borrowed my Glock which he'd NEVER fired until after the "beep" on the first stage. He was deliberate and made all the hits, even on that damn star. He'd never seen one before and it was his first target of the day.

Whilst I shot like crap.....

They had a "mine field" that consisted of clay pigeons......many, many.......MANY clay pigeons.

If you caused one to break, no matter how, it counted against you.

(They had this part of the stage set up Saturday for their 3-gun match and I heard someone dropped a loaded 12 gauge round right on top of one......it didn't break.)

But ME, I felt one crunch underfoot, so I knew I had a penalty. But I was told two had broken......"TWO?" I asked. "Yes, your EMPTY brass case hit one dead-on and broke out the center.....bummer, dude !" :nutkick:

Well, that's the kind of day it was for ME.....:(

But my friend had a blast and I want to take a moment to thank all of you there that made he and his Mom feel welcome. I think we have another one hooked!

The mind field sounds fun.

What it did was introduce another element that required your attention, thus making you multi-task things of opposing nature.

IE, you needed to watch where you put your feet instead of watching for the targets. Once you thought you were where you needed to be, THEN you could look for the targets and engage them.

Due to the multi-tasking requirement, (and due to the many, many clay pigeons) it was a very demanding stage. :thumb:

My friend had never seen anything like this before, but he was able to negotiate it pretty well. Had all his hits, as I recall, too !

I liked it, even tho I got stung by a single empty .40 case breaking one.

Another stage had a split popper, each side activating a "flopper" target. I was first on this one. I decided to shoot each side of the popper and then shoot the floppers in the order they appeared. Naturally, I went to the wrong one first! But, I made my hits and was pleased with that part, altho my time suffered as a result. At least there weren't any mines on that one!
