View Full Version : Any good engravers in the state?
I'm going to mail off my SBR Form 1 on monday so I am looking for someone to engrave an AR lower. A few places have been recommended to me but they would involve shipping it out. I would prefer to get it done locally if I could. Any ideas?

I'm needing some engraving too.
I wonder if a jeweler can do it. Don't they engrave crap on the inside of rings and such??
I've thought about it for a while and I'm not sure if I trust people to do it that don't specialize in that sort of thing. I think that I am going to mail my lower to Orion Arms...as much as I would prefer to get it done locally.

I've heard mixed opinions on where the engraving should be located.
Where (receiver location) do you plan on having it done?
I think that I want it on the front of the magazine well. I have seen it beside trigger on the bottom of the receiver but I think that I would prefer to have it on the front.

You may try MidWest Trophy in OKC. They will measure the surface that you want your information on and use the correct size text for that area. I have only used them once but it looked great and they had it completed the same day. The text that they used was a standard block type letters instead of some the goofy stuff that you get with some trophy shops or jewelers.

Are you looking for laser or hand engraved? Machine shops should have a computerized laser engraver. When I was working at the Air National Guard last year, they had one, and I got a knife engraved.

A few jewelry shops do engraving. There is one on Classen that does good work. I don't remember the name but a friend of mine had his SBR receiver done there.
