yeah i guess so, i guess i could continue to frequent GTs music forum...
Or we could just discuss in in the general section until there is enough genuine interest to warrant a seperate forum.

That's a good point. If it looks like we have enough discussion on any topic, we can add it onto it's own forum.

I play a little guitar. Just for fun, not professionaly. I've got a Mexican Strat, Roland VG-8 into a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. But mostly for my own enjoyment.
I play guitar,mostly slide.
Delta blues and a little bit of lap steel.

i used to play electric guitar.
i sold my last one recently.
i always wanted to get a lap steel.
roland makes good stuff.
the jc120 is about the cleanest sounding amp, and about the only solid state worth owning.

and the radio in the truck doesnt count.
lmao
Peavey makes the best sounding solid state,IMO.(transtube)
I used to run a pair of transtube Bandits in stereo and it sounded great.
Personally,I like Fender amps though....Vibroluxes.
I do my own amp mods. Marshall stuff as well.

well for CLEAN tone, the jc120 from roland is unmatched in the solid state amps.
i had a fender twin reverb once, it was a nice amp. but i sold it.
regret it. i wasnt sure the date of mfg but im positive it was 70s.
had a jcm800 head with 2 4x12s. sold that. dont regret it.
but i got out of electric guitar.
i kick myself for letting go of my les paul.
it pains me to think about it.
i had a gibson 30 watt amp from the 50s i believe, but one day i was jamin on it and it shut itself off, never came back on.
that sucked.
it sounded great.
i like the warmth of acoustic though.
i grew out of the whole amplified music thing.
theres just so much in one acoustic and one voice.
with just that acoustic, there is nothing to hide behind.

I really like the sound of steel guitars. It is one of the simulations that my VG-8 can produce, any sources for tab music for steel? Most name brand solid state amps sound good in the clean mode. Its when they are in "overdrive" that the tubes really show their superiority. Tube produce even, melodious, harmonics that solid state cannot reproduce. Solid state amps produce odd, harsh sounding harmonics when overdriven. I do play an acoustic too. But prefer the electric. "VALVES FOREVER!"
