Is one brand of polishing compound better than another? Where can these be purchased at?

Re: Glock ".25 cent trigger job"

I just use the red polishing compound that is included in the dremel polishing set.

I finally broke down and bought a dremel tool yesterday. I ended up spending the evening polishing on my 19 and 23. I also bought the dremel polishing kit as well. Are there any particular bits that work the best as far as polishing goes? I mostly just used the bit that has the felt head already attached to it.

I use MAAS polishing compound on the big felt wheel attached to the threaded bit. I'd use a smaller felt wheel if I had one though just to have a little more control. YMMV

I use the felt wheel that already has some compound on it and the big round wheel.

I'm really sorry to bump this thread two years later, but this is one of the first things to pop up under ".25 cent trigger job", I am trying to put my GLOCK back together, and I am losing my mind here.

The spring on the trigger is messing me up. I don't know which way it was.

And I can't get the slide catch to go in place.

And I can't get the extractor to go in place. I put the firing pin safety in, push it, put the extractor in exactly like the site says (the site with the pictures), let go of the firing pin safety, and the extractor falls out.

Please help.

I wish I could TELL you how, but alas...I can only SHOW you how. It really is very easy, it just takes a little pushing, jiggling and holding down while you push this and slide that.

I took a S& W revolver completely apart once.

I took it to my gunsmith in a box for reassembly! :yikes2:

Sorry I wasn't much help! :sorry1:

Is it a two pin or three pin Glock?

I live in Sand Springs, if you can come this way I'll put it back together for you. Depending on your internet connection could you take a picture of what the problem is and maybe I could send a picture back.

On a 3 pin gun,you put the top pin in FIRST and then the slide stop.
The hole in the stop will be off center from the hole in the frame because of the spring pressure.
You have to wiggle the slide stop UP and FORWARD as you push the trigger pin in by hand.
On very new Glocks the fit can be tight.
Alternatively, you can run a punch through all of the holes and follow it with the trigger pin as you remove the punch.
