Re: Only one Semi-auto
I'd have a 9mm, not sure yet whether I like my Glock enough to keep it over my Sig though, so need more rounds downrange to answer for sure.

Re: Only one Semi-auto
1911, 1,000's of dead Commies can't be wrong. What other pistol has been around for 100 years and is on the incline in production. That say's something.

Re: Only one Semi-auto
My Browning Buckmark.
I hate feeding centerfire autos.......
Edited to add;
The post said which semi-auto you would have.
Nothing about ccw or self protection.
If I was carrying for protection it would most likely be a revolver in 44spl.

Re: Only one Semi-auto
Jimmy is right...The 1911 is the perfect gun. great caliber and well balanced. Easy to find replacement parts and comes in various sizes. Hard to argue with history.

Glock 17
Reliable
Durable
Inexpensive
Easy To Use
Cheap(er) Ammo

Many Aftermarket Upgrades And Accessories
One Basic Tool To Do A Complete Armorer Level Disassembly
What's not to like with those attributes?

Re: Only one Semi-auto
I do own only one bottom feeder, and frankly, I don't know of any other one out there that I would trust my life to more. I couldn't tell you the last time I found another auto that I felt like I wanted.
The Glock 22.
It works when the others won't.

Re: Only one Semi-auto
9mm...I can't pick one model over the other cuz if I did I'd have to say the M9. I've torn them apart more than any of my other weapons.
so long as it feeds and goes bang I'm happy.

Re: Only one Semi-auto
At least no one has claimed they'd choose a .380 auto...
Heh heh...
Glock 19
As is normal for most glocks it has excellent reliability, good mag cap at 15rds., very durable finish and accuracy is acceptible.
Two of its greatest qualities are its weight and size.
Loaded it is a full 5oz + lighter than a 17 or 22 or my 5 in alum 1911.
Its physical dimensions are just small enough to make a real difference when you are trying to conceal it over a standard service auto.
Another suprise for me, this pistol can be run at high speed. Its more difficult to clean up the sights at speed but it can be done.
The mag change is slower than with a full size but thats ok..
