Not as aggressive as 2007, since it has a sunset, but still not good news.

(31) The term ‘large capacity ammunition feeding device’--
‘(A) means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device manufactured after the date of enactment of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition;

As I'm reading this, it looks like they're trying to ban any 10+ round magazines produced after 1994...if that's the case, I call BS. They can't do that to people who have purchased magazines during the "no ban" period between the sunset of AWB I and this steaming pile of crap.

They can do anything they can get voted on and signed by the President.
IF we let them.

Re: Awb '08 H.R. 6257
The date on it is June 12 (my b-day BTW) of this year. I don't think this will be the one we need to worry about?

Re: Awb '08 H.R. 6257
Right. And I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to push the 2007 version that didn't have a sunset provision, and required only one provision (like a pistol grip) to make something an assault rifle.

Re: Awb '08 H.R. 6257
You know there's going to be a big push by the antigun crowd for an AWB. Anyone who's not already a member of the NRA should join, and everyone should become politically active on this issue (and any that affect our rights and freedoms) by monitoring what the legislature is doing and staying in contact with Representatives and Senators.

Re: Awb '08 H.R. 6257
Hi there im new here to the forums and Oklahoma
Been here for about 6 months now, since my time here I have tried to find out the true politicians..anyone who even semi-emulates the good Dr. Paul, and in my search found Eric Procter, Ok people may say now....but he is a Democrat..he is on the dark side!! Party affiliation means nothing, I have personally beem replied to in email 2 times with phone numbers, I decided to call it yesterday evening, not expecting an answer, long story long (heh) we discussed at length Obama's Nom. of Holder For AG, and the all out assault on our 2nd amendment rights, and talked about the upcoming 2009 SDA and so forth, this is a true people person, you can email him and next day you will have a reply. I urge you to consider him as a resource, he is/did fight and got rid of our federal tax on ammo, this is still in the air I think, hard to keep up when im away at work in St louis and Dallas. Sorry sor long winded, anyways happy to be a part of this great community and state!
