Yeah, that whole Civil Rights Act really opened a can of worms...

Kinda funny, too....makes a lotta folks, Christians included, feel warm and fuzzy about armed men forcing associations with different groups. Now the ramifications of that are coming home to roost. Well deserved meal for those willing to embrace cultural change, forced by the State.

If bigots and homophobes would try to accept other people, instead of shunning, segregating or inflicting violence on them, government wouldn't have to step in.
I am glad our government protects those who can't protect themselves.

I bristle every time a a private business like this is called a "public accommodation", and then anti discrimination laws are applied to it. Anti discrimination laws should only apply to government entities. Private parties, ie "We The People" should be allowed to discriminate as we see fit. And if you don't like how a business discriminates, don't give them your business.

What? That makes too much sense!

Let's take this religious objections argument to its logical conclusion.

I've had revelation from God. He told me that paying taxes is giving hands to the devils work. I therefore cannot be forced to pay taxes as it would violate my first amendment civil rights.

Same argument just different subject matter.

Logic has no place in religious conversations.

Because obviously we can't use common sense and call out a tax dodge when we see it.

Sadly, though, history is not on your side. There is an unfortunate history in this country of town-wide discrimination against groups with commonly shared traits.

Should we allow the only pharmacy in small town USA to deny service to blacks, whites, gays (insert group here) because they are a 'private business'? There isn't always another business in some of these places to provide competition.

It's one thing when we are talking about allowing discrimination by bakers, photographers and such, but what about when we move into other, more critical areas such as medical care?
