I like to really know how many of you changed your own flat tire which was #15 on post 39.

I still change my own tires.
I buy the tire and carry it out of the store ..mount it with my tire irons.
I used to remove the old one off the rim with a bumper jack.
I have a bead breaker I made from scrap iron that I use now.

SO do you guys really change all your flats?

I change flats... meaning swap out the flat one for the spare. I don't know how to break a tire off a rim without special equipment. For those things I've always taken the flat to a tire shop. I mean... I guess it doesn't happen to me enough that I need to look into how to do it. I usually replace my tires when they are worn these days and haven't had a true flat on my own vehicle in a while. Had to drive an hour down to the niece's college last year to change her tire because she didn't know how and the stupid effing security told her that their air canister wouldn't fit her tire to air it up to get home on (WTF?).

2x6 board and screwdrivers and some soap .. those are tools I used many times to change my tires.
Or say remove them from the rims.
Between the wife and I we go through tires she used to drive 70,000 miles a year.

Just like changing a tire on a bicycle,, but you use more muscle.
A friend showed me how when I was 15.
I am a tight wad I will not pay for tire mounting and I align my own front ends.

Does Man card get revoked for being a tight wad.
I hate to pay people for anything.
