Yesterday, the Oklahoma House Public Safety Committee passed permitless carry legislation, House Bill 2951. This important self-defense legislation now heads to the House floor where it will await full consideration. Please contact your state Representative and politely urge them to SUPPORT House Bill 2951.

Sponsored by state Representative Jeff Coody, HB 2951 recognizes the right of Oklahomans to carry a firearm for self-defense without having to get government permission to do so. Self-defense situations are difficult, if not impossible, to anticipate. Accordingly, a law-abiding adult’s right to defend themselves in such situations should not be conditioned by government-mandated time delays and taxes. The CWP will still be available for those who wish to take advantage of reciprocity agreements when traveling to other states.

we should get on top of this, call our legislators and see if we can push this bill. carrying a gun for self-defense is a right, not a privilege.

While I'm an NRA member and supporter, I have to say "Nice of them to acknowledge the achievement," because they've been pretty nonexistent at the state capital for a long time. http://www.ok2a.org/2018-legislative-session/ is the group that has worked to improve Oklahoma gun laws.

I think constitutional carry is a good thing. My only concern is CCW reciprocity changes that could occur as a result. Hopefully they'll still issue something that lets this continue.

Actually, IIRC, he not only is a member but a very active member, and keeps OSA well informed of what OK2A is up to.

Go crawl back under your bridge, troll.

Oh, btw, it's "you're" not "your".
I dont think I was talking to you.
And "he" sounds pretty ill informed re: the NRA involvement so I was asking him a question, not you.
I'm a member so I know. Not to active now but was pretty well involved in the march for open carry. My name was #2 (right after the president of the OK2A) on the petition drive. You were still taking long showers back then.
