You said, and I quote "The "right" probably doesn't figure they need to fix other people's problems." If homelessness is a problem in America, I'd personally think of it as an American problem, not as a partisan issue. It should not be either "other people's problems" or a photo-op. We ought to be able to actually figure out a solution.

YOU were the one asking what the "right" is doing about it?

Whether you like it or not, it is other people's problems..... as in personal responsibility..... generally speaking. The problem gets worse with simple handouts in lieu of access to programs.

I never said handouts did I? I asked what the "right" was doing about it... That means anything they are doing. I have personally not done a true compare and contrast.

Well, that makes one of who was "wondering" what would come out. I had no doubt that your overly developed case of Dunning-Kruger would kick into overdrive and you would post some more puerile condescension as you try to sound smarter than you really are.

And then ...

LOL! Are you finally realizing that you are a troll ... and not a very bright one who is not capable of either thoughtful or even "reasoned" discussion? If you try to do the math, you will find why people find you so easy to ignore.
Now your rolling on almost all cylinders... Still forgetting to use your classic read with your mouth line though. But for me being so easy to ignore you are awful at ignoring me it seems.

15 as of the last time I saw the article, but who's counting. Again, I'm not getting drawn in there --- too broad a topic, too little entertainment value compared to the typing for an audience that has proven they don't read what I say with the intention of listening to begin with.

I was wondering when your third go-to phrase "liberal coloring books" was going to come out.

You sound like AOC. You refuse to admit that billions are spent every year dealing with illegals that could be spent on American citizens. We have homeless veterans sleeping in the street while illegals are provided food and shelter. You refuse to answer basic questions about your own beliefs but think your answers to everyone else is the know all end all. OSA has become a cesspool of people like you who post just for your own amusement. Welcome to the ignored list.

I don't know the exact figure. But I do think that we have plenty to spend on basic level human rights for anyone, AND still spend on programs and services for Americans too. Again, I don't have exact figures on what is currently spent. And no, I'm not going to answer all questions when I know that they are not asked with good intentions. That'd be stupid.

Speaking of stupid, your comment: "OSA has become a cesspool of people like you who post just for your own amusement." Can you point out a time in this history of the site where it's not been people posting for their own amusement? That's literally what a forum site is. It's social media just like anything else, which is a steaming pile of poo in general.

But back to more important questions. I've never been cancel cultured (ignored) before. Do I get a trophy or something?

I know you are right and do not argue the point at all. I deal with illegals all day every day being in construction and while I do not condone breaking our laws, some of these folks are salt of the earth and are basically good folks trying to get ahead for their family ............. I have been dirt ass poor and had kids so I empathize with a Mom or Dad doing whatever it takes to have a better life . The family's left behind will have a tough row to hoe!!

That is exactly the point IMO. We are 35 YEARS down this deceitful road and no one really cares to solve the problem. The Democrats steadfastly refuse to overhaul our broken immigration system, simply because “kids in cages” and tragedies like the one we’re talking about make for good imagery in their war on Republicans. Fixing the problem is just not that difficult, but they refuse to do it. The entire subject has been twisted and misrepresented on purpose, and the only reason is corruption.

The coyote driving that Expedition is directly responsible for all those needless deaths, but he was just exploiting the human trafficking black market that was created by bad politics. Every politician who ever obstructed or obfuscated immigration reform owns part of this problem. Everyone who profits off the misery and death is complicit.

Quit drawing shaky assumptions just because they fit your narrative. We both know you're better than that.

We also both know that there simply will not be a grown up, well reasoned, considered or thoughtful discussion on that subject on this forum. I would wager that I could live 4 lifetimes or more and not have enough years to see that. So no, I'm not going there. I'm here for the entertainment and the giggles, and that road doesn't check either box.

Mind the plank Sir, mind the plank. You’re in no position to make assumptions here Mr. Judgey McJudgerson.

LOL, you don’t answer questions at all! You’ve been asked numerous questions and you’ve stubbornly refused to answer them. Yet you persist in making judgements against others when they don’t come to heel when you ask your questions. That’s because you don’t ask questions in good faith. Sure we’re all here for amusement, but what skylines you is what amuses you, which is pretending you’re better than others and engineering the conversation to suit your perverse “amusement”.

You are the epitome of a troll and that’s why no one takes you seriously. Either change your “debate” style or expect to get dragged every time you set your dirty foot in these types of threads. We see you for what you really are, and now you’re going to serve as amusement for us. So buckle up, buttercup!

I can give you at least one, and there are likely many more, instances of what the "right" is doing. A friend of ours is into training Thoroughbred horses and they keep some stalls at Remington Park. One day, they decided to go down to someplace like The Jesus House and offer a day's work to some of the homeless. They were going to pay them $100 for a few hours of cleaning stalls. No one took them up on the offer. In fact, some stated something to the effect of "Why should we go do work when we can get all that we need for free and without having to work."

So, I guess the question should be, "What is the 'Left' doing to combat homelessness?" They certainly aren't being successful in places like Los Angeles and San Francisco. And, speaking of "left-coast" cities, how is Seattle and Portland, OR doing with the homeless?

So a few years back I did a stint with Leadership Tulsa in which you become a part of and work with various non-profits around the Tulsa area. The amount of help available through Tulsa non-profits is staggering and we are nationally ranked for philanthropy. This coming from a city in one of the reddest states in the U.S. So if you're homeless in Tulsa, you're either mentally ill, or you want to be homeless.

So that's an example of an individual doing something --- even if it didn't seem to be accepted. What is the large scale program? It's deceptive to compare an example of an individual friend doing something to LA, San Fran, Portland, Seattle etc.

Last time I was here IIRC Portland was opening a new building as part of a program where they renovated a place to include temporary housing along with hosting services for job placement and other assistance programs designed to get people back into society. I want to say there were plans for 5 or more of those to come online in various cities in the state too. I'd have to look up details because I may be off in some of these details.

Then again, one issue is that all the programs and assistance in the world, and there will STILL be people that don't want it. @JD8 kind of hit that on the head.
