As the laws stand now, yes, you can sell it, no paperwork or background check. With the current situation, the AR 15 type rifles value has skyrocketed.

It is worth several times what you paid for it. Unless you just need the money, I would advise you to just hang on to it. It is not the gun that commits a crime it is the person.

You mentioned that you loved to shoot it. You joined up with us here on OKShooters, jump in with fellow law abiding gun owners and enjoy your love of the shooting sports.

Hi, looking for INFORMED answer regarding private sale of a rifle - Bushmaster AR15. Can I just post it in the paper or in a gun web site forum & sell it, no legal paperwork or background check? Forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question, I just don't know the law concerning this here in Oklahoma, I saw that you are a moderator in the Classified Forum of this site - you probably are a good source for accurate information pertaining to my question. Please help w/ an answer only if you know FOR SURE - I'm a nurse & I don't want to break any laws. I got into guns a couple of years ago & bought this as it was really cool looking & I really love shooting it but w/ all the negativity surrounding this type of gun I want to just sell it. Can I just list it in the paper & sell it to an individual or what? I've been told by people at work that this would be a private sale & is legal in Oklahoma no paperwork involved - is this true?
