My motorcycle days are over but I have over 100,000 miles on bikes mostly between southern Cal and Oklahoma. I just never felt safe or the need to split lanes, maybe that mind set has something to do with why I never had an accident on a bike.

On sneaking up to a stop light, I don't want to be the first guy in the intersection. That is the guy that gets hit by the idiot that thinks he can still make the light.

When I go to Cali, I have to totally change my mindset. I am not used to motorcycles going between cars, and I am not used to bicycles that ride two or three in a lane, and there are so many of them. I also have to get used to not carrying unless I am on my property.

I also ride a motorcycle and I would never attempt what they do in Kalifornia.

I ride but I don't split lanes just like I don't want cars thinking they got room in my lane because I'm not using all of it. Get into an accident when splitting lanes you can kiss your insurance goodbye, or at very least pay out the nose even more.

Im getting the impression there are a lot of anti bikers on this forum........ Most of the accidents in the video are caused by bikers going too fast and auto drivers oblivious to anything going on outside their vehicle.
Not a lot of anti bikers at all. Just a bunch of neer do wells that likes to pontificate on a few things.

Would you cut in line at the store because you're behind a guy with more items than you? You could check-out faster.

I can get my car off the line before the little ol' lady (or the semi) in front of me too, but that doesn't give me the right to zip by on the shoulder. Traffic should stay where it's expected to be to avoid accidents. That's what lanes are for.

No, I wouldn't cut in line at the grocery store, but I would (and often do) let people with only a couple of items go ahead of me because I know it'll be faster for them. Although, really that situation didn't really compare since most stores these days have separate lanes for those with fewer items. Give me an official lane for me to use when I'm on my bike and I'll use that.

Now, even though I HAVE filtered forward at stop lights before, that doesn't mean that I do it regularly. In fact, I haven't done it since I move back from Dallas. I try to keep my law breaking only to speeding (I can't help it, I like to go fast).
