I don't even know what some of that stuff you listed is. We got a new TV about a year ago. It's an LG 55" HD LED/LCD(I think), we don't have cable so I really don't watch it much except local news and Netflix. Check and make sure some of the options you listed are actually broadcast and/or available in your area. I remember when we were looking there wasn't anything broadcast in 4K or something similar so we opted out on that extra cost. One thing I wish we got was smart tv so we would have 1 less remote and 1 less thing plugged in to power. If I remember correct the top brands at that time were LG, Visio, Samsung. Some of the older good brands like Sony, Magnavox, ect were not what they used to be.

Awesome online deals are available on Black Friday. No need to leave the house.

What he said! Buy from the comfort of your bed. Just find the item, wait for the price to update to the BF price, then check out. I did have to wait until 2am or so last time I was buying something, as it didn't update at midnight; but I didn't have to wade through crazy crowds!

With technology having become the commodity item it is there's not a lot of difference in base chassis, it's more about feature sets - find one that (1) does what you want and (2) you like the look of at (3) a price you're willing to pay. That will be the best one for you. If you can arrange an in-home tryout to see what it "really" looks like where you're going to be watching it, so much the better.

We have a Samsung 4k UHD curved TV bought from Amazon. It's awesome. I think Dish has a 4k UHD receiver too. But the picture is the best I've ever watched. Primetime Tv looks like live stuff like soapopers, the old B&W westerns look almost 3D & BluRay stuff is great.

You can get a $k UHD player and the 4k UHD movie library is growing.

According to Kim Komando the best time to buy a TV is right after the CES.

Alert!
If your on a metered Internet service like we are, do NOT connect your TV to your WI-FI.
When they want to upgrade their software it will eat up your data plan.
I'll be using my phone for the next two weeks.

I have a 60" Samsung led 3D tv and couldn't be happier. I just haven't seen a tv that can compare to Samsung as far as picture quality. Speakers aren't the greatest but that is what my Bose system is for. I have avatar on bluray 3D and I am not kidding it is the absolute best thing I have ever seen on a tv. I was going to upgrade to a 65" uhd curved Samsung but haven't yet. My tv is plenty good. I can't imagine the picture getting much better. Another thing to consider with "4K" is that almost nothing broadcasts in it. Nothing that I know of on dish or direct and only some things on Netflix. So your basically paying extra for something you can't even use. I wouldn't get anything else besides Samsung. And yes I own other brands. I'm taking about my main big tv. It will always be a Samsung. One more thing I forgot to mention. Most tv shows don't even broadcast in 1080p. It is either 1080i or 720p. Some video on demand stuff is specified as 1080p. Even with it not being in the top hd wise the tv shows still look amazing. Good luck. Sams currently has a very good deal on some tv's. Not just Samsung. They have a hitachi 65" led for $638!! That is unreal. The curved 70" samsung is about $2,999 I believe. Or you could go with the 78" curved Samsung for just $3,999! That actually ain't that bad for a tv like that.

Wish I was still in Seattle because I bought a returned high end Sony from a Costco reseller for half the price it was in 2008. It is still so good 8 years later that I can't justify replacing it.

OLED: is an improvement on LED. Something about organic light emitting diodes. I'm guessing it's supposed to give better control over all the colors. LCD (from back in the day now...Jeez, I'm getting old) had great brightness, but pretty crappy black levels/contrast. Over time, they got better, only to switch to LED, which has now gone to OLED. Bottom line, look at the black levels at any TV you're considering.
The big thing about OLEDs is that they are vastly smaller/thinner than standard LEDs. OLEDs are the stuff of the "paper-thin" panels that can be rolled up--while not available at this time, AFAIK, that illustrates the thinness and flexibility of OLED panels.
