Why I would not use it (now) is because I don't have any. Lots of 00 and #4 but no #1 or even 0 buck. Never said that there may be better loads (I previously agreed that #1 was really impressive and that I never gave it much thought).

Just saying that #4 at living room range will drop someone just as well as a 22 if the shot is placed where it needs to go.
Having ammo on hand is one issue...proposing that #4 Buck will penetrate as well as .22lr is another. It won't. CCI Stingers, for example, are smaller caliber, yet carry 133% more energy than a #4 Buck pellet. That being said, why are you comparing Buckshot to .22lr? When it comes to external and terminal ballistics for stopping humans, why would .22lr be any standard of comparison?

Are you having a bad day and just want to argue? Why don't you get a Snickers bar?

While you are enjoying that candy bar, go back and read what I have said.

Im not sure why everyone keeps comparing other bullets to a lone #4 or 00 for that matter. There is not just one. Theres bunches. And what if your in the same room and it has just barely left the wad?

It was good to learn just how effective #1 buck is AND that a CCI Stinger can penetrate better (and thus a better stopper) than a load of #4 buck. Me thinks I will shelve my Mossberg 590A1 and rely on my Ruger 10/22 Sporter loaded with those killer Stingers to fight off those pesky zombies should they ever make it to OK.

1400 fps tears up a lot of meat.
Shot a coyote today at 40 yds with my Taurus judge from the tractor. 4, 000 pellets at 1200 fps. Saw three kick up dust, one didn't. He circled and ran giving me two more shots.
When he hit the weed patch he was slow walking, so I figure it's dead.
Example only that distance makes a difference. At hallway distance, all pellets would have hit at the point of aim.
