Did someone just admit to owning a Taurus on a public forum???!

He did. It is forever now etched; as if in stone. Truly sad.

Actually, I've got six of them.

Which reminds me... I need to get two of them sent off for repair under their lifetime warranty. ;)

and what other "price" would there be? Gold? Silver? Woman?

You forgot Bitcoin.

I just have never heard of a variance in asking cash price and trade value for any products other than firearms. Can you imagine doing that with whataburger, houses or beer?

It's done with beer and labor all the time.

What a gun is worth varies widely. Then when you are talking about trade you have two variables to value. I'm selling X, which is worth $1000 to me. I want Y, but I think it's worth $400. So, I want $600 cash with it. Current owner of Y feels it is worth $500 or $600. Thus, trade value may seem +/- cash value depending on variable value of trade item and variable value of sale item.

Then you say no to the trade.
That's on you for taking a trade you didn't really want.

Value of an item is always determined by the person who will be accepting the item. If I feel that a trade item will cost me $50.00 to convert into cash, then that $500.00 trade item is only a $450.00 value to me. If that is not a high enough value for the person attempting to trade, then he should say no to the trade at $450.00.
