I'm fairly new to ARs and scopes. Liking the looks and reviews of the Nikon P223 with the Nikon mounts.

I'm not wanting to spend a fortune. This is a HD/range/truck gun. Not a long range target match gun.

What scopes/mounts do you guys and gals prefer on your ARs?

I've had a Vortex Viper 1-4x and liked it. Currently running a Primary Arms 1-6x and it will stay on my rifle indefinitely. It's an amazing scope for the money. I've got 3 Run n Guns on that scope, it gets beat around and I have never had to make any adjustments after the initial sighting in.

I have a Vortex Viper PST with tactical turrets MRAD. It's 1X4, I really like it. I think for the money you can't beat the Vortex Strikefire 1x6 though. It wasn't out when I got the Viper.

That Nikon has good glass in it the only thing I dont like about them is the exposed non locking knobs which can get turned going in and out of a truck ect... I have a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 on one and a Leupold VXI 3-9 on another. One Im building now Im going to try a Millet DRS or whatever its called.

People have been happy with the 2.5-10x Vortex PST....... I really like the Nikon Prostaff 5 2.5-10x for just overall usability and price as Cabelas had it down to 169$ at one point.

The PST is better glass than the Strike Eagle, but, hard to beat getting a bit more out of the 1-6x. Looking to try the PA 1-6x.

The Vortex DB 2-8x is nice, with parallax adjust, but the CH are a bit thick......

All depends on price point and usage, and expectations.

The Bushy AR Optics have no complaints either for the price.

May want to look into the 'newer' Athlon Optics. new kid on the block trying to bust into the market like another company who is now a household name.

I run a Viper 1-4 PST capped, Viper 2.5-10 FFP PST, and SWFA 1-6 FFP. All work well, love the front focal plane and really like capped scopes to keep anything from moving turrents. The 1-4 & 1-6 have factory caps and the 2.5-10 has custom made plastic caps. I've used all in run and guns.
