What .40cal long rifle are you using Quigley?

Doesn't interest too many folks these days...but it's a little .40 caliber flintlock longrifle that a gentleman in Georgia built me years ago. Your thread about shooting dillos at night just got me to thinking of all of them I've killed with it...course that's hunting them during the daylight hours...not really relevant to your way...just came to mind though. :wink2:

I used a Mathews Z7 for my last possum remediation. Silent and deadly!

I also have the Z7. Earlier this week, I looked through a window and saw that there was a big fat squirrel sitting on top of my archery target. A big squirrel, scratching his belly, sitting on my target, in front of a stack of straw bales. By the time I retrieved my Mathews and got to the back door, he was gone. Missed opportunity.

I haven't brought myself to take out the squirrels on my land. They are cute and don't bother my stuff.

We don't either. The tree rats clean up the hundreds of black walnuts on the ground by spring, so they serve us with a reason to leave them alone. Our dogs use them for entertainment, so that's reason #2.

Unfortunately I have few squirrels and they never come close enough to shoot. The jack Russell and cats keeps them away. The cats however seem to make friends with the other critters.
