For those of you saying the Ford is weak because of the new aluminum bed, do you have a bedliner in your current truck? If so, why? If the steel beds are far superior, then you shouldn't need one.
Get a spray in bedliner and the aluminum bed of the Ford is on par with anything else sporting the same liner.
As was mentioned, 99% of them are grocery getters or very occasional boat pullers. No one puts anything in the bed anymore. If you do that regularly, you probably have a 3/4 ton. But it's an easy target to knock a brand you don't like.

Exactly, and that's all this thread really is. Brand loyalty.
I'm loyal to none. I've owned them all. Had problems with all and had good ones with all. Currently, I own a Tesla, a Toyota, a Ford and a Porsche as well as a couple deuce and a halfs. I do try to call it like I see it and right now, I see GM at or near the back of the pack, reliability, power, looks, etc.

Not if you raise a front-end loader full of bricks 20 ft. high and just drop them into the bed ;)
That commercial alone is enough for me to not consider the Chevy.

I'm on my second and third Ford Expedtion - a 2010 4X4 limited and a 2014 4X4 limited - and they are GREAT. I've had Suburbans, an S-10 pickup, an S-10 Blazer, two Dodge vans, two Dodge Durangos, a Chevy vans and a few others I can't even think of right now and the three Expedtions I have had are by far the best. Based on my Chevy and Dodge experiences I would never buy another. A friend has had a couple of F-150s and loves them as well. My dad had an F-350 dually that was great.

For the sake of full disclosure, we are also on our second and third Mustangs - a 2006 and a 2015 50th Anniversary GT - so I guess you can say we have become THAT family on the block. LOL

Ram Mega Cab. Had mine for 8 years and plan to drive the wheels off of it. Was a previous GM guy all the way until I bought it. The wife still drives GM SUVs or cars but it's my Mega Cab for life now. I've had it from Seattle to Florida, KC to OKC to Austin and back several times, hauling an entire household of items and towing a trailer. This was just my stuff moving from one job to another. Used and abused. Holds a queen air mattress in the bed for fishing trips or whatever. Rear seats actually recline. A box behind the rear seats hold my fishing gear at the ready. Never an issue getting anywhere in any terrain or weather. Seats 6 comfortably, 7 if necessary.

Google Maps recently updated and caught it in my drive (only real pic I got). You can see my only real problem is, it comes no where close to fitting in the garage. :cry3:

To be honest those commercials are like a Hillary Clinton commercial, designed to fail. If somebody took a bobcat and dumped a bucket of rocks in my truck at full elevation, I would be in that cab with a fist full of whup ass.
What I didn't like about the fords before purchasing my Tundra was the cost of insurance, and the lack of authorized body shops.
My taco and now tundra 1/2 ton are farm trucks that get to drive on city streets occasionally. 1/2 ton trucks are certainly now more equipped to be city dweller vehicles with all the bells and whistles, but they are certainly farm trucks. The Tundra is currently pulling a 7700 lb RV at highway speeds with no issues as well as a 4300lb tractor on a 16' tandem trailer.
I don't know about The latest fords as I've been Toyota since 95. 4:30 rear end gears, 381HP Helical double row axle bearings and the largest rear end gears in the market keep me in Toyota.
I did drive a Ford F150 during the search. Impressive horsepower. The double turbo's develop a lot of HP at high altitude. I'll give it that.

How do you feel about the Tesla? What model did you get? If Elon made a truck, I'd definitely have to look into it. That guy's a genius.
