I have owned both in 9mm & 40 & prefer the XD line. These are the wife & my carry weapons. Do what you can to shoot both & see what you prefer,as everyone has different likes & dislikes. Both of these are very nice guns hands down.
I have also had some stove pipe issues & need to send mine in for the repair. I have read that S&W sent the gun back to some customers w/ a couple of free magazines for the troubles.Did they do this for you?
Academy is recieving Monarch 380 several times a week,but they do sell out of it daily.You might call them & see if they would hold it for you for a few hours since your from out of town. Its worth a try.
I cant remember if it is a Hogue or Pachmyer slip on that I have ,but it was factory cut for the XD's. It makes the grip only slightly larger,but gives you the finger grooves & a stickier grip.

S&W's are very plentyful in the used variety. Just keep an eye out & one will pop up.

I have the Crimson Trace on my M&P 340 J frame & there is a difference in the felt recoil w/ the shock absorbing rubber back strap vs. the solid metal of all of the other grips.The laser is a nice adition to the night sites as it is allways on the said target. In an emergency situation where you...
