    Is a .222 / .223 Contender Pistol Deer Legal?

I figured thats kind of how it'd go. Only had one unpleasant run in with a game warden in Oklahoma, and that was while fishing. Every one that has stopped me while hunting has been pleasant. Just be nice, offer them some coffee maybe, and they'll probably let you walk with a pistol chambered...

    hogs

Would love to see what running over a big pig with a truck would do to the truck. I almost feel like the pigs would just get up and run off and your truck would be a little uglier (or prettier, depending on how it started)

    hogs

I find them wherever there is a lot of feed and water. Field fields, acorn plots. Usually the thicker cover the better unfortunately. Last few that I killed were around 2pm in the rain. As far as bringing them in, from our game cameras, they seem more interested in the mineral blocks than the...

Replica guns should be licensed: safety council

Thats ridiculous, hows making them register fake guns going to make them less likely to get shot when they threaten to shoot someone with it? I'd shoot them if it looked real because I wouldn't know if it was real or not.

    which is better choice

223 if you are in close and can shoot the head. Otherwise, a 7mm just about anything will do the deal.

    Monarch Ammo

Academy has some ammo prices online. I've got some in 7.62, thinking about trying some in 45 till the white box stops being $0.50/shell

    7.62x39 soft point

I'd heard that the HP's are unreliable, either they expand very nicely, or poke a .3" hole in the animal. Since I found SP, I decided to give them a go, if they don't work, then HP's here I come.

    7.62x39 soft point

nvm, there are some cases left at brigadoon.

    7.62x39 soft point

They've only got HP in, and I didn't think that the hollow points would really work well on hogs.

    7.62x39 soft point

Does anyone carry 7.62x39 soft points in the OKC area? I tried H&H but all they had are fmj, same with academy.

    45 acp at academy today

High expensive was the white box, is it still nearly $0.50 a round?

    nw expy academy ammo report

There is some fmj 7.62x39 as well, saw some FMJ .223, this was all on Friday. I don't think that they had any non-FMJ 45acp though.

What are the best public lands for spring turkeys?

Sorry, was comparing SE Oklahoma with just about everything other than Western Oklahoma.

    7.62x39 for hog

My hogs aren't usually nice enough to stop and look me in the eye, they hear my truck and haul ass out of there, but they do leave me some quartering away shots if I get into the field fast enough

    7.62x39 for hog

What loads should I be looking to use for hogs in this round? I know that a soft point is preferable, but will a 150's or 120's load be better. Also, which manufacturer should I be looking for. BTW, this will not be for my go to gun for exclusive hogs, I'll leave that to the 45/70, this is...

What age do you think it is appropriate to teach a child to shoot?

I think that a 10 y/o with a shotgun maybe a little on the small size

    Shooting With Both Eyes Open

I always found shooting shotguns helps a lot, and keeping two eyes open with a shotgun helps you with hitting two birds (not as much time searching for 2nd bird)

    Shooting With Both Eyes Open

The more I wing shot the easier it became to shoot with both eyes open. It gets a little weird when looking through a scope though...
