I went Sat. and traded 2 guns for 2 guns and came away happy. This is one of the best shows I've been to in a long time, I hope Dave continues these shows. He's on the right track!
I,ve had several Plainfields and the are the best of the commercials. Your price is on the high side but not out of reason. Plainfieds used all GI parts except reciever and wood as did the very early Universals. It looks like a very nice one. Hang in there!
I gave my grandson a 16" rossi in 357. They are great guns. Don't forget the Henry, I have 1 in each cal. 357,44mag,45lc. The Henry is very well made, very smooth and accurate. Customer service is very good and they are made in the USA.
I have a Beretta (made by Uberti) in 38spl and I love it. Coolness factor is off the chart. I've had it for a couple of years and shot it alot. Nickel plated 5.5in Bbl.

I'm going Friday with a dealer friend of mine. I'm going to sell a springfield Garand cheap (650) so it should go also I'm taking a couple of collector revolvers. S&W 31-1 regulation police,3 in bbl, sq butt, 32L cal. also a H&R sportsman 22lr topbreak, excl cond. I think it was made in 1941.
This may have been discussed before sorry if it has. I want to know the advantages to the 22mag over the 22lr. I don't hunt much, just plink ,target shoot. I've never owned a mag but I've been considering a rifle and pistol in that caliber. I would like opinions if they are worth the extra...
Also look for a rewelded reciever. A friend bought one one time and discovered the reweld, the carbine would not function except as a single shot. He ended up stripping to gun for spare parts. The reweld will be obvious if you look.
