Anyone own a HK P30 (light) LEM?

I'm getting closer to deciding to adopt and train going forward with AIWB as my primary carry method. While I have full faith and confidence in the safety systems of my G17 and PPQ, I am beginning to lean towards preferring the idea of a hammer to thumb while reholstering. I am seriously...

    Best Gen 3 Glock

You are correct. The source apparently changed for Glock's extractors around that time period and began to produce issues previously not seen before. Few people really identified it as an issue until the Gen4 Glocks came out with much more manifest issues. Then some people started noticing that...

    Kahr CM 9

For what it is, I think the Kahr CM9/PM9 is great. You won't be winning any challenges with it, and it is too big for effective pocket carry for me, but it could definitely shoot lead into an attacker within 3-5 yards. Do I think there are better options out there? Yes. Definitely.

    Which Gun SHould I get?

I realize that this is dated by a few days and a Glock 27 may already be in your hands (not what I would have ever recommended but oh well), but honestly, a Ruger MkIII or Buckmark Browning would be my first suggestion. These are IMO the two "best" (meaning accurate, reliable, and affordable)...

    Glock G26 VS. Springfield XD9 Subcompact 3"

Yup, pretty much. There are, however, a few things that would cause me to go with the "Ford" in this example. First and foremost, I don't want a gun with a grip safety. One more thing to possibly go wrong. Second, unless things have changed, Springfield isn't as forthcoming with parts. (That is...

Turning 21 soon and looking into purchasing a handgun

    6. Whether you can conceal a handgun has more overall to do with the belt/holster/shirt-color you use than the size of the gun. Get a good carry belt. Don't skimp on the belt. Also, get a good holster. Even more than the belt, a good holster will make you forget you're even carrying your...

Turning 21 soon and looking into purchasing a handgun

321, based on your first post, it is clear that you have already done some research, otherwise you wouldn't be looking at the PPS or the CW9. Good Job! You're on the right trail. Quick answer: If single stack isn't necessary, go with a 2nd/3rd Gen Glock 19. If you absolutely need a single...

    Best Sub- Compact 9mm Pistols

I would bet that I'm kind of in the same place as F16mickey but with the M&P9 and Glock 17. I really like the M&P. The Apex FSS trigger makes it a dream to shoot. The interchangeable grips make it extremely comfortable. I have spent so long with Glocks, however, that when I switch back and...

    Best Sub- Compact 9mm Pistols

"Best" doesn't exist, but I think the Kahr series is pretty good for their size. I personally could never get used to the trigger system. Great, smooth trigger, but the long reset was just too different from my other handguns, and I constantly short-stroked it. I'm currently trying out a PPS. So...

    Wilson Combat Owners?

As a former owner, I can highly recommend them. Unless you are dead set on having it exactly a certain way, I would suggest buying used. Great savings compared to new prices, and any break-in issues have generally been worked out. Used CQBs can usually be found for around $1800-2000 on various...

Will a 9m get it done for home protection just as well as a 40cal

I have both a Glock 17 and a M&P9 as HD weapons, so clearly I think 9mm is enough. Honestly, if you look at what training experts say, I think most of them agree that the best HD weapon is an AR because 30 rounds of 5.56 beats any handgun. DocGKR has some pretty interesting data on m4carbine...

What is a good but cheap .22 Semiauto Pistol?

Ruger or Browning Buckmark. I went with a Buckmark. Both are great options. Both are equally reliable and accurate. The Buckmark just has the easier (and free) trigger mod. If you get the Buckmark, google "Heggis flip" and watch the how to.

    Best Glock Trigger Configuration

I'll just primarily comment on concealed carry since the sky is the limit with USPSA. I've invested a lot of money on Glock trigger mods in the past. Money spent on quality training is a much better investment. I've shot a G34 with a Vanek, and I used to own the Fulcrum. Honestly, I think...

    Defense of property?

Haha! Well, I wouldn't walk up to them with a Colt 6920 slung at the shoulder and ask that they leave. But yes, definitely I'd have a firearm on my person any time I would tell someone to get off my property. If it is your property, and they don't leave, you can't really do anything yourself...

    Defense of property?

The passage you quote from the constitution doesn't address the question you are asking. It deals with ownership of firearms. Your question is about use of deadly force. The right to keep and bear arms in defense of property does not = the right to shoot someone to protect your property. If...

    What kills?

Not that I disagree with your intent, but I think ignoring the OP's question and focusing solely on shot placement is proper because it does actually answer the question - the answer being, bullet grain doesn't matter. (to a point mind you) The repeated statements of shot placement, shot...

    9mm .40 .45 ?

This post sums it up about as well as can be done: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=19887 I go with 9mm because it's cheaper. Cheaper means more shooting. More shooting generally means better shooter. So inferentially, 9mm means better shooter. (at least dollar for dollar - and I don't...
