sounds like you're okay on private land, but keep your lights off on public land.
To tell you the truth, I'm still on the fence about it. There are a lot of things I don't like about Fallin, but all in all, I think our state is a pretty damn good place to live. I'd like to see someone better staying at the governor's mansion, but I just don't know if Dorman would be a step...
It's actually called an Oklahoma Handgun License, and you can open carry with it, but you still have to have the license to carry during archery season.
I'm just asking. I'm not going to "roll the die" or "go for it". That was the purpose of asking before just going. I'll try to refrain from asking any questions in the future. Sorry to be a bother.
so what does the last part reference then?
ETA: Also, the first sentence specifically names a "Person ... while hunting deer," I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I don't see how that includes a party. In addition, the other person has no deer tag and is pursuing small game with a weapon...
I'm going out to check on an area on public land here in a few days. I'm not really planning on actually hunting, but I will have my bow, because I figure a deer will come try to get a piggy-back ride if I'm not carrying it. My brother, who does not have a deer tag or a bow, would like to come...
Had to leave early to get to work this morning, so I wasn't out very long. We didn't see anything while we were setup, but on the way out we kicked up 4 lazy deer that were still bedded down; maybe 150 yards from where we had been setup. One of them was a yearling, one was HUGE (not sure if...
Hit up one of the WMA's in the area (see link below). Make sure you check the regs for any special rules they may have as to what you can shoot and how you can shoot it. Also, probably want to try scouting a bit through the off-season beforehand...
My eTrex was recently stolen from my truck, so I replaced it with a 62st. Seems pretty solid, the interface is easier to use than my old one, and the screen is great, even in broad daylight. As mentioned, a good old-fashioned compass & extra batteries need to be carried as well.
it doesn't even have to be particularly high-powered. I shot one in my back yard a week ago with my son's el-cheapo Walmart Crosman (a 760?). One shot to the head, and he hit the ground with a single twitch before lights out. Granted, it was only 10 yards away at the most. I recovered the...
What ever came of HB 2614? This was a bill that would allow carry permit holders to leave their handgun locked in a vehicle in school parking areas. It looks like it was approved by Fallen back in May. Does this go into effect in November?
Title 21 § 1289.7
Sounds like it (referring to the pistol) needs to be in a case or rack if it's in the cab with you - otherwise, you have a duty to inform.
Alright, so we've got heart, liver, and menudo. Anything else for the organs? My six-year-old son actually prefers deer liver over the rest of the animal (not that he won't eat the rest), and my wife has an excellent recipe for the heart that I got out of a book on butchering. I'll see if I...
My wife & I do a bit of canning, but I never thought about raw packing. When you say hot water, do you mean tap hot*, or simmering/boiling hot?
* Don't worry, I don't use tap water for much beyond showering & washing clothes - just using the expression.
Can you site the law for this? The only thing I can find in the SDA relevant to this it the paragraph I posted above (TITLE 21 § 1290.8c). This states that if the firearm is carried under the authority of the SDA (ie. loaded), you have a duty to inform. Otherwise, you are not carrying under...
