Anyone with a few boxes of 20ga steel dove or target loads (6s, 7s, etc) I'd like to top off my pretty limited supply before next weekend as I wait on some reloading components to get here.
Will also pay a finders fee for pointing me at some. I'm in the Tulsa area but drive all over for work...

second largest buck we've ever had on cam in...15 years of running trail cams? pardon the cell phone shots of my camera display, i forgot my sd card and stuck it back in after my hunt. he's pretty fat for an unfed cherokee county buck. nocturnal so far, per usual. have some nice obvious 3.5 year...
Congrats to all you guys on some dang nice deer! Holy crap, Okie4570...
I made myself an orange hatted bowhunter on a little smaller buck than I intended (dang left finger) but he's good covid apocalypse food. ;)
Also killed him in my deepest ridgetop stand and with all the storm deadfalls...
I hadn't seen a shooter buck from stand all year. Today I said to myself I will get down from my stand at 9:45 am. I had stuff to do midday.
8:10 I see a yearling forky or maybe small six. Pass him at 40 yds. He's cruising, sniffing the ground. It's kinda windy and it's been a grind lately...
Yeah, I no longer shoot coyotes while deer hunting after reading Coyote America by Dan Flores and doing a deep dive.
I think most "control" amounts to futile feel good stuff. People, especially cattlemen and hunters, have an highly emotional emotional hatred for coyotes.
The guy who owns my...
225gr .35 Accubond
Exit, quartering to but still behind shoulder. Not much expansion but still a big hole. 20 yard recovery.
This is the exit on this buck, the entrance was much higher (close shot from a bow treestand) and straight through the other shoulder. Mule kicked and ran 50 yards on...
RE ballistic tips, I should note our deer in the NEOK Ozark foothills are not big bodied like out in farm country or anything.
That said I am beginning to become a sturdier bullet guy and haven't shot a ballistic tip since I shelved my last .270. I am going to be putting together a .270 or 7mm...
I shot nothing but .270 130gr ballistic tips for years and was pretty happy with their performance on deer. Great expansion on double lungs. Huge, very short blood trails.
I shoot 225gr Accubonds from my Whelen. They don't expand like a ballistic tip on deer but they don't need to. Real happy...
Sat on a field looking for a doe this morning, nothin'. Moved back in the woods at 9:30 and started seeing deer at 1:00. Doe with twins feeding on acorns on the neighbor's place. I had to leave at 1:30, of course. Snuck out with them then. This is a bow stand on a trail leading off the neighbors...
Impossible! Drops 'em every time I hear.
Nah to be serious everyone knows what type of guy I'm talking about and it's not a guy doing what Chenry does and sniping the vertebrate behind the skull with a proven rifle. It's the casual rifle hunter taking a shot he has low confidence about in the...
Lots of people years ago used to call it an elitist bowhunter argument to be in favor of shorter gun seasons or gun seasons outside the rut. I've always thought the same as others like bassin are posting...it's the opposite of elitist. I think it hurts the average guy to lengthen gun.
Anecdotally it seems like there's more support here for not lengthening gun season than there was 8-10 years ago when we discussed this. Wonder if folks are seeing the inklings of the changes we could be headed for more and more.
