Bring whatever you have. When you're starting out it doesn't really matter. Trying other peoples' guns will give you an idea. In the deep end, custom pistols, Benelli M2's and AR-15s rule the range.

Agree w/ you on Geissele being pretty bulletproof. But JP triggers are set and forget. The only time I have seen a JP trigger fail is when it's not installed properly, which would be an issue with anything. They are less complicated than anything else and they just work and work.

No offense taken at all. Generally speaking we start guns hot. There are exceptions (a shooter going prone with a holstered pistol, for example). I shoot LOTS of major matches all over the nation and we do it like everybody else. Also, I am not the MD!! Just trying to provide info here.

Unloaded start can be specified by the stage designer, but we'll be cocked and locked on everything tomorrow (per usual). Like TWSS said, it is a COLD range until given the make ready command by the RO. Stages are set.
