I have reloaded the Mexican Aguilla 9mm Luger brass when it appears in range pickups. I do not remeber the exact head`stamp. You can compare your brass to a fired 9mm Luger case of another brand to insure that iot's not 9x18 Makarov.
The Aguila SE SV ammo was used by several members at our bullseye pistol matches (50 ft indoor) . At that range it performs very well.
I did some bench rest testing at 50 yards and it produced ca. 3/4 inch 10 shot groups while Wolf MT and SKJ Rifle Match produced one hole 10 shot groups of under...
I started years ago with a multi pump Benjamin. Then I acquired a set of Hammerli CO2 powered pistol and rifle. I still use the Hammerli rifle for discouraging unwanted guests at the bird feeder. Also tried international air pistol with an IZH-46 but gave up on that. Recently the bug bit hard...
The Dan Wesson Pointman 1911's were for many years under appreciated and certainly under valued. I have a Pointman Major in 45 ACP, a PM-9 with an extra 40 S&W upper and a newer stainless PM-9. All great shooters with superb factory triggers as well as fit and finish. The more recent offerings...
I have used Aguilla SE SV ammo in my bullseye pistols. I have never tried using the subsonic version. I would image that it will always go bang but function in a semi auto will depend a lot on the semi auto.
The Colt Woodsman was a classic semi auto 22. In the 1950's the Match Target version was popular at the bullseye pistol matches. It was eclipsed by the S&W Model 41 which had the rear sigh on a barrel extension rather than on the slide. The Colt Wodsman always came from the factory with superb...
Very neat. The original edition of Roy Jinks's book on S&W's had X-ray photos of the early revolvers - not as detailed but provided a look at the innards.
I have used both the Ciener and AA conversion kits on my G-17. The Ciener unit can be had with 15 round magazines and works with a wider variety of ammo than the AA which prefers either Remington Golden or CCI MiniMags.
Bullseye is about as universal a powder as one can find for handgun loads. Alliant has published a lot of data over the years - unfortunately little of it is included in theri wenbsite. If you want a copy of their 2004 or 2005 Reloading Guide send me a note.
With 45 ACP the preferred powders are kin the fast to medium burning category. I have used VV-N310, Bullseye, HS-700X, Trail Boss, W-231/HP-38, American Select, Clay, WST, Aliant E3 and am curently experimenting with WAA Lite.
My favorite 25 yards bullseye psitol load was 3.8 gr. HS-700X, Rem...
