Well, I began my reloading startup today.

I have always been able to lock my dies with the locking rings with set screws, set them once and unscrew them from the press without losing my setting, screw them back in to the press when I need them again and the settting is good to go. I use a Dillon too and buy lock rings with set screws.

    Note to self (newby reloader)

LOL,I think we have all done that! If you have a vibratory tumbler hold the case against the side of the running tumbler and it will loosen the media and smaller case from the larger case.

    Only one "All Purpose" handgun

Have to go with the do it all 4" .357 in stainless. It does some things very well and is capable of doing more things ok than any other handgun, plinking ,hunting, playing to self defense,no other handgun is more versatile. Ranadall

    Colt Diamondback

Wonderful revolvers,I have one I bring out to play with sometimes but with the prices on these, especially the short bbls, going thru the roof it stays in the safe most of the time now.You have to shoot one to appreciate them. I really think if Colt brought back the Python and Diamondback now...

WW I era Colt .45 - Need advice

I wouldn't refinish it. I would wipe it down with an oily rag and clean it after shooting. The patina I think adds to the value.

New Redhawk or S&W Mountain Gun in .45 Colt (LC)?

I have a 7 1/2 " redhawk in .44 and a 6" S&W .44. The redhawk is like a truck and the S&W is like a sports car. Indestructible or prescision? Both get you to where you want to go.

Using Unique in the rcbs uniflow

I believe the type of powder has more to do with uniform charges than the measure, the RCBS with micrometer allows the ability to record your settings and repeat later. In my opinion stick powder like 4350,4064 deliver the least uniform charges, next being flake types like unique, and ball gives...

If this won't raise hell I don't know what will.

I don't know where people get these 1911's that don't work. I have owned 8 and all worked great, still own 3. Only problems I have had has been to replace recoil springs and mag springs when they wear out,and one broken extractor on a Springfield 3". I am not picking on you Redmax,just...

    Anyone ever fireform brass?

I have done 30 Herret and 7-30 waters from 30-30,7-30 just run it thru the die and fireform,30 Herret; size, trim, fireform.Neither one was hard to do,I did split a lot of brass tho.Probably because I never annealed any.

    Bulging Cases?

Sounds like Glocked brass.Glocks have minimal support at the breech and let the brass expand too much.If you have a spare sizing die you may be able to modify it to a push thru and size the whole case down.If you are using Dillon dies try another brand of sizer.Dillon dies are smoother feeding...
