What are you planning on doing? Do you plan on taking out the DPMS barrel and replacing it with a 6.5 Grendel barrel or are you planning on building an entire new 6.5 Grendel upper?

By the way, the Grendel is an incredible round that you will love shooting. My avatar is a pic of my Grendel.

Thinking about just changing barrel and bolt. That seems to be the cheaper route.

Set up wise that's probably the cheapest route but trust me, you'll miss shooting the cheaper .223/5.56 ammo. In the long run, I would set up an upper in both calibers and just switch the uppers as you shoot them...even if you have to do it piece by piece it will be worth it. What length barrel are you wanting to do with the Grendel and what length of barrel do you currently have on your DMPS? I may have some extra parts to help you out depending on what you want to do with your Grendel.
