Not sure if this photo thread has been done before. I attempted a couple different searches and didn't come up with anything.

I'll start it off with a few bolt guns from my collection...

Ok, I'll play along. This is a sporterized 1939 Czech BRNO VZ.24 8x57 Mauser. It was gifted to me 35 years ago by an old fellow who worked for my father. It's in rough shape but still puts lead downrange just fine.

I read somewhere these rifles were used in the 1948 Israeli efforts to become independent. That might explain the Star of David that has been poked into the left side of the stock. You can see the star in the fourth photo.

I'd love to find an original or faithful reproduction stock and refinish this to as close to original as I can.

Sweet. Sadly that will have to wait until I get back to work full time.... Heh. The first and last links are to the same dealer.

Thank you for the links. I'll keep them in mind when I get some spare greenery to spend.

And that is a sweet collection of rifles you have there.

No problem Tw...there seems to be quite a few complete stocks out there so you shouldn't have any issues picking one up in the future.

Thanks for the kind words too. Hopefully I'll get to add some sort of Mauser to the collection sometime in the future. An 8mm is on the bolt gun wish list along with an M91, US M1917, Swiss K31, Enfield No 1 MK3 and No 4 MK 2.

Ha, Thanx! Th 44 was refinished by mitchrapp, another member here, an oil-stain, and the 38 I did with scotchbrite pads for sanding so I didn't remove all the cartouches and finished with numberous coats of turpentine/linseed oil 50/50 mix.

Here is an Indian Ishapore in 7.62 NATO. I have a Model 2A1. That is the newer model and all of these rifles were made in the 1960's at the government arsenal at Ishapore, near Bangladesh, hence the name.

You will note that it is a copy of the early Enfields. The quality of mine is quite good.

I'll throw some Swiss in the mix. K31s, the one on the left has some mojo ghost ring sights, the other is bone stock.

My pictures aren't as well done as some of yours, maybe someday I'll get some really good ones.
