Thanks everyone for looking and the kind words, I am a small time knife maker, I live in Purcell Oklahoma make knives in a small shed in back yard. I do forging and stock removal, but mostly stock removal, I do most or all the work myself. I make knives in Alabama Damascus, 1095, 0-1, 1075 and 5160 all in house from basic bar stock materials into what you see above. I also do knifes in 154cm , s30v, 440c and about anything else, I do however send those steels to Peters Heat treat for hardening and tempering if Peters will heat treat it I will turn it into a knife...lol. I have a photobucket with a lot of pic's in it, but I use it for all my knife stuff, so there are unfinished knives and some build along in there just ignore what doesn't make sense...lol http://s1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh487/randallss7/, I also have a facebook for my knives you can check it out at http://www.facebook.com/S.PottsCustomKnives.

How do you get the pattern on the top/back of the tang? I think I'm using the right terms lol?

I have a drawer full of regular and modified hand files of different sizes, I use those files to cut in the pattern I choose, then when I mix up the epoxy for the knife handle I allow it to fill the voids, a day later you have a handle with laid in file work, I would say not to hard but one wrong cut and you destroy a knife, or make a give away knife anyway.
Very nice!!!!
Nice.
Nice work! That Alabama Damascus looks beautiful. The work on the visible tang is a great touch.
