KSA Handgun Two-Day course, June 9-10


KSA is now accepting 12 applicants for the first open enrollment Handgun course for 2012. This course will be led by Master Instructor Billy Smith.

Equipment list:

Semi-Automatic firearm
3 magazines (minimum)
1000 rounds ammunition (minimum)


Held at the Old Fort Gun Club River Range (Van Buren, AR)

Times:

7:30-17:00 Saturday
7:30-16:00 Sunday


Topics covered in course:

Mental Mindset – employing the proper mindset, and allowing the shooter to give themselves permission to win

Ballistic selection – covers the different calibers, terminal ballistics and ergonomics – how the gun should fit at proper caliber selection

Stance – Standing vs. fighting

Grip – holding the gun vs. maximizing biomechanical efficiency

Sight alignment/sight picture – Detailed explanation of both, and how to use them for a given situation

Breathing – (if you don't, it's a self-correcting mistake)

Trigger control – old methods vs. current, high-level shooting methods

Follow-through – What to do when the shooting is over

5-count draw and presentation - exposed carry, concealed carry

Malfunction clearance drills

Weapon manipulations – 5 types of reloads

Single target engagement

Multiple target engagement (Priority vs. sequence)
