Thread: Googles policy

Although I use google, I have never used the shopping feature.

I switched to Bing and ask.com as my 2 search options
Google makes lots of money on people using the search feature
and being redirected to the merchant site. Need to start taking away Google's power since
their agenda is clear. Bing and ask.com seem pretty good for search.

There are ways to prevent Google (and other companies who try to collect your browsing info) from doing so. Here's one of the best I've found, and it's free: http://abine.com/dntdetail.php

Well - I never heard of google shopping. Can't find a web site for google shopping so couldn't use it if I wanted to which I now don't.

As for google - can't hardly get away from it. Won't use bing, yahoo hasn't been worth a crap in 10 years - the rest are not near as good as google so what is one to do.

Google is it. Kind'a like AT&T and/or a subsidiary for land line phones.

Some things you just can't get away from.
Google Shopping is a section on their main web page like pictures and maps, now it's under "more". It wasn't before, I had to go check before I posted.

I heard of Google Shopping, but never paid attention, but I already stopped using Google when there was no mention of Flag Day on Flag Day on their page, so I switched to Bing, and I'll use them until they do something I don't agree with then find something else I suppose, if they haven't already.

I switched my iPad search to Bing as a sign of protest. Not that they'll care much... But I did use google shopper a lot to find gun deals, it's absolutely worthless now after the change.

I switched to ask.com as my home page both on computers and smart phones...switched to bing as the default search engine.
also getting my getting family to do that.
If all of pro 2A folks in the country did that, google would lose over a 150 million users....and they make their money from folks like us clicking on other sites through them.

Default Google sadly joins the anti-gun brigade

Didn't see this anywhere on the site, so I thought I'd post:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/frankmin...i-gun-brigade/

Google is censuring information on guns and other products from Google Shopping. Sure, we know they once gave in to the Chinese government, but why are they censoring products used for self-protection by America’s gun owners?

Google announced this new policy on May 31. Now firearms manufacturers and others are pointing out Google’s hypocrisy. Meanwhile, the media has mostly ignored the story.

I'm not sure if this was discussed either but yahoo and the left wing wackos from msnbc have partnered. So what search engine is available that isn't controlled by crazy liberals?

I switched to Bing because of this too. It may not help much but I wont support them with that policy.

Nope, Yahoo partnered with Microsoft for a 10 year deal that uses the bing search engine to return results on yahoo.

It's apples and oranges though because the google search engine does not exclude gun related search results.
    It's only google shopping.
