Can anyone summarize the process to getting and maintaining an FFL?

Just attended an ffl conference in OKC and found that we have been doing the 4473 wrong.
We were just following instructions but it seems that there are different interpretations of the instructions

    Almost finished correcting 1000+ 4473's

New 4473's are to be used starting July 6th.

Those who demand quality are willing to pay for it.
Those looking for Cheap will argue that theirs is just as good and criticize you for demanding quality over value.
I lived with cheap for 50 years and now only look for quality and enjoy doing so.
I don't give a **** what you say or think about me or my products, you will not appreciate quality until you own it.

Go to the atf.gov website and request an application (they will only ever send you one so don't mess it up.)
fill it out in Triplicate (or more) take the whole packet to the sheriff and get your fingerprints and mug shot made, then ask the sheriff to sign it.
The sheriff will keep one copy and give you back the rest of them.
Keep one copy for yourself and mail the rest to the batfe at the address they give you with your check.

They will send you your certificate but don't sign it.
then within a month they will come see you in person to give you a book, some more paperwork and make sure you have read the book (hint, get the book in advance or download one from the internet and read it.)

The book is called ATF Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide 2005
It is less than 250 pages so reading it won't take that long

Thats all there is to getting the license
