Let me say this: there have been weeks, months even, that i could not pay my bills. My family and I would eat raman noodles just to get by. Some nights spent in the dark because we couldn't pay the electric bill.

To be blunt...none of that is my flipping problem unless you are my family, friend, or neighbor. Yes my wallet, the one that feeds MY family and friends, IS more important than someone in Ohio with stage 1 cancer, and the government should not be taking money from my wallet to provide care for that individual.

It is not our federal government's intended role to take from others under threat of force to give to others. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" is a weakminded, easy out that only enslaves entire classes of people, across the spectrum.

I'm more than willing to pay my equitable share of taxes to support the enumerated powers of our federal government, and my chosen state government but, judging the value of a government program by how many people it helps, when that help comes from penalizing producers is short sighted and only serves to guarantee a continuance of the targetted condition.

The more power you give the government the more they have a say so in your life. Government ran healthcare? What if being part of that healthcare system regulates what you eat, drink, drive (ohhh the fast cars), hobbies (scuba diving, rappeling, skydiving, shooting....yeah even shooting) could be considered too dangerous and would keep you from getting the proper medical attention that you need.
I'm with SMS.....my goal in life is to take care of my family, my needs and whatever goals I want to achieve in life. I'm not responsible for anyone else but my own. Coldhearted? maybe, but it's my individual freedom to do that.

The blind conservatives act like Obama is the seed of the devil and only wants to ruin our country and our lives. Is he the greatest? Nope. Far from it. Is he the worst we have had? Nope. Far from it. Atleast he is making an effort to do something to help those less fortunate.

Oh and of course your immediate thought is "oh well he is just entitled and wants free money blah blah blah." Let me say this: there have been weeks, months even, that i could not pay my bills. Did i stand in a welfare line? Did i accept hand outs? Did i let the government pay for my woes and mistakes? Nope. Not once. So do not even just for a moment think of my thinking as "entitled." I worked my way into a better situation by hard work, thrifty spending, and diligence.

It is embarrassing to see just how bias everyone is when it comes to the subject of politics. And it is the blindness and the bias of people like hardcore conservatives and hardcore liberals that is killing this country. You blame the politicians, but it is the people that feed the politicians and give them energy to move on with stupid legislation.

And you talk about being entitled? I do not know of a more "entitled" group then political types. The title of the article is "Five major ObamaCare taxes that will hit your wallet in 2013." But hey your wallet is MUCH more important than that person that will now be able to afford treatment for their stage 1 cancer, right?

Welfare and charity are not the responsability of the .gov, it belongs in the hands of the private sector, churchs etc. 100 years ago people got along just fine in this country without welfare and food stamps/ebt card. You want to breed 10 kids, hey have it, but they are your responsablitiy, not someone elses to care for.

Also these are the top 5 that going into effect in 2013, the full effect of the taxation, oops I mean penalites, will not be felt till 2018. Save what you can, while you can.

FWIW, anyone ignorant enough to believe that Obamacare will treat all Stage 1 cancer..... please educate yourself to the mortality rates of very treatable cancers such as prostate, in the U.S., relative to let's say the UK. It's nearly 5 times higher.

Yeah..... the government knows what's best for us in terms of healthcare. Just ask the Canadian PM.

I guess it is my fault for not properly conveying my sentiment on the subject.

In do not agree with the reform in its entirety. And as i said, i do not agree with handouts and living off of the gov. What i am trying to get at is that political types are so closed minded so that they do not take positives into consideration. They see a leadership figure as evil and do everything possible to bring that person down instead of working out a compromise so there is a mutual benefit for all involved. Politicals do not care for the country, they just want to be proven right.
