Falls Creek was never quite Plato's Retreat, even in the '70's.

It seems he was more in the line of "get it done quick" then "get it done where people aren't prone to wander". Luckily for him he only got busted by a few of the guys from our church and the one girl who wouldn't have ratted him out (my girlfriend at the time). I wouldn't have trusted the guys but she wasn't one to boost the ego of others (especially him).

OK, I'll ask the obvious question -- Where was the good Mr. Lansford and his minions while all this was going on??

I'm starting to think that I should have been Baptist ... sheesh ...

Can neither confirm nor deny sex act took place when I went. I never witnessed anything. But for me I went for a different reason it was not sexual in nature. I enjoyed getting together with out youth from our church playing card games, seeing sights and for me the best part was eating.

A hand on the gun is better than a cop on the phone! That's great. I'm gonna remember that.

I went when I was a kid and remember having alot of fun. My oldest daughter has gone for years and she has always enjoyed it. That's about all I can tell you, which may not be much help.

As a youth pastor I have been to Falls Creek for the past 4 years. This year we took around 40 people. Right from the start it is known that the reason we go to Falls Creek is to get closer to Jesus, while having fun in the process. Any students wanting to go who are not close members of our youth group or some that I suspect to have bad intentions I will personally talk to warning them of the consequences of any kind of BS. I have several adult sponsors who I trust with my life on watch at all times and several of my solid students who are my eyes and ears concerning any clandestine activity. In our cabin the boys and girls have separate dorms with several adults on each side. There is a few hours free time each day from 1-6 where you can't really keep the magnifying glass on each student. During the night they have security riding around on golf carts to prevent students from sneaking out. Having said all this, any two humans that want to have sex bad enough are going to do it whether they are at church camp or in jail. My responsibility is to protect my students that have been entrusted to me by their parents. I can't speak for the other 5,000 students at Falls Creek, but I run a tight ship at my cabin. I would say my students had as much fun as any at the camp, without being deviant. Don't get me wrong. I'm not some drill sergeant type of dude who yells and nit picks everyone, it's just I love and respect and demand the same. And even though I'm a youth pastor, I'm not scared to fight or even die. We did get closer to Jesus and also had fun, which was the whole point.

I went a couple of times back in the '70's. I thought all cabins had separate dorms.
I found out our elderly pastor packed a S&W .357 magnum everywhere he went, yea he was a cool dude especially for an old guy. We had some killer softball games and Jerry Clower was there teaching every year.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
